Is that what it is supposed to do? A sort of Black Community Chest? And who says that protest itself is not a good thing?
BLM has reverberated round the world. Only American right wing groups have condemned it. We see it as an attempt to gain the attention of people to the systematic racial prejudice of American society.
Most people who have observed demonstrations understand that they tend to attract fringe elements with their own agendas. They are a distraction, like wasps at a picnic. BLM attracts hangers-on from the left, unsurprisingly; right wing gatherings get their share of KKK sympathisers, Oath-Keepers and other oddballs and extremists.
Fringe groups distract from the central message. In the case of BLM, the systematic racism present in society. (Yes, we have it too.)
I can't believe I have to explain this...
She started a coalition of independent activists under the same banner claiming it needed no leadership.
Later, she posted her kooky destroy capitalism and families manifesto.
She later trademarked the BLM name.
She updated her website by removing a lot of nonsense and giving the vague impression this group was created to help black people fight oppression.
She declared herself president and the chapters began to complain publicly that there was no election and they weren't receiving funding.
Now that her vast mansions have been made public, the poor black families she profited from are furious. Coincidentally, she's decided to step back from leadership (though not necessarily from administration).
Here's how the grift works....
1. Media finds a viral moment for you to pretend to be outraged by.
2. BLM chapters protest against a generalized problem with no real plan for a solution.
3. People sympathetic go to the website of BLM, and decide to show their virtue by buying a t-shirt or donating.
4. None of this helps black people, unless you count those invited to the dance party at the Cullors mansion and I promise you, she doesn't want to defund the police.
