  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cant escape a sin

That battle is evidence of salvation. Key to a struggling sinner is this amazing grace

Paul visits the Corinthian church and finds it steeped in sexual sin. So bad it was even abhorred among gentiles. Yet Paul was assured God had saved them by the expression of their spiritual gifts.
Although they did need admonishment. It left Paul even more in astonishment that God was saving even these people.

Try inviting Jesus into the activity and watch how fast your heart changes and demands your minds attention
I had a good experience with that recently, there's this aspect of creation that makes everyone interconnected - I've been having issues with how my awareness of this interconnectedness affects me - and somehow found God's "address" in it. Really helped "bringing" God into the situation.

You just added to gods word. All sins will be forgiven except blasphemy the Holy Spirit. Those sins mentioned are stopped. We went from death to life. Faith in Jesus from faith in ourselves Just my opinion. I understand your concern and I do not take salvation lightly despite my once saved always saved conviction, that’s not to say I haven’t been where you are fearing I need more repentance. Or more faith. Or more action. Jesus paid it. His grace motivates me to life not to sin. And that’s what I trust Paul saw in the early church at Corinth. A church the world would call lost. But god called saved by grace

(said best). If you could lose your salvation. No man would be saved. Search the example of Moses and striking the rock

Dear one,
Would you consider the Lord Himself have said ?
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. -John 15:1
Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. -John 15:2

So He ( God the Father) takes away every branch in Christ that does not bear fruit.

Likewise, we heard:
Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. -Matthew 3:8

Could you explain what the Lord said in John 15:2 about every branch in union with Christ that the Father takes away that does not bear fruit ? Can you say that your conviction of faith, that is, the once saved always saved conviction, whether they are aligned with what the Lord Himself said in John 15:2 ?

Once saved always saved is the assurance we need to make it through every trial and temptation my friend. In the hardest times fear debilitated. But confidence strives in us

In my opinion and understanding of scripture Jesus is speaking of the church and revelation makes this clear also. If the church isn’t producing fruit. It will be removed from this world Jesus says. “Men will gather them and burn them”.

this is in my assessment that the men in this passage are not speaking of hell. As Jesus never doesn’t use he’ll if it’s needed for the argument. He used the word men. And no doubt a Christian relying on himself will be devoured by men

A Christian beaten and torn by men because they are not relying on Jesus to be the light and salt in their witnessing to men
