I mean, even given how terribly myopic the statistical interpretation is, no one is claiming they're hunting them down, this isn't the police making sport of a race, it's systemic biases that are still around in society because of how police were used to, in no small part, hunt down runaway slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries

Pretty sure others have already brought it up in this, you seem to just want to deflect and move the goalposts to make it so you don't have to confront any problems. And biases are not always so demonstrable, there are going to be ideas that have been deep seated culturally even with people not in the police as regards criminality, etc, and it can connect to racial stereotypes.

I think the opinion writer is on the defensive and refusing to see the scope of the problem. When parents fear that their children are targets, there is no trust in the law enforcers . All people do things that are "stupid". But it has been demonstrated that black people are killed just for being.

Which group is the disease most deadly to? The white group who has the larger total number of deaths or the black group who has the higher rate of death?

Oh my goodness how ridiculous that sounds. So your saying that police today are stuck in some sort of mindset because of what police did 200 years ago? Police today don’t have anything close to the mindset of police 200 years ago, they can’t even imagine what it was like being a police officer back then. Wow

Yeah and every year almost half of the homicides committed in the US are by blacks despite them only making up for12% of our population. So perhaps this may provide some incite as to why your statistics are the way they are. According to those numbers blacks are far more prone to violence than any other race in the US. So that might explain why police are more prone to resorting to the use of force when apprehending blacks, because they have to.

And one could also point out that blacks kill far more blacks than police do so one could say that blacks are hunting blacks more than any other group in America.
