But it doesn't explain why children from Central America seeking asylum are more dangerous to our "ecosystem" than Mexicans sneaking across the border to find work.

IMO, that's more of a moral issue... I have to wonder if they have parents or not, and if they do, how do we make sure they're okay with giving up their children.

...I guess if the parents cared, they would do everything in their power to reunite? But then, what if they don't have the resources.

President Trump turned them back, Joe let's them in. President Trump eliminated the cages put in by Obama/Biden administration, Joe puts the cages back with a new name. I understand they want to make this a one party country, but Joe is causing great harm to many people.

What does it say about the parents who would let their child hike through all of cartel-controlled Mexico?

That they think the situation in their own country is so perilous that it's worth the risk.

Same energy as "Barack HUSSEIN (
) Obama".

The only person causing harm is your racist attitude towards migrants.

I'm not sure "Racist" would be an accurate description based on the quoted post. o_O

I am, unless I'm completely missing their point. Seems like the "great harm to people" is the audacity of letting brown-skinned migrants into our country.
Ringo

If that's just a gut feeling though, then it's really just a conspiracy theory... Not much different than QAnan type stuff, just coming from the opposite direction.

Yeah....no. Making educated assumptions on an online forum is not the same as rioting at the Capitol. CF really is hot takes central.

Many are fleeing gangs that control their neighborhoods. They have three choices in such neighborhoods:
1. Join the gang
2. Don't join and be executed
3. Flee to the border

....as for local police - they are not present.

And those countries on their borders should decide whether they should accept these folks as asylume seekers. We are not one of those countries.

It's about as much of an educated assumption as it is to assume the Clintons have ties to pizzagate.

I think that we are ignoring the main problems.

Biden will take care of lots of the issues by year end. Folks will again be in camps in Mexico, perhaps being operated by Holiday Inn or the US embassy. Folks will again be in facilities in the US, again with good conditions. Many more immigration judges will be confirmed and assigned, and the program to make sure that folks awaiting a second hearing will be re-instated. And yes, Mexico will again be pressured into making decisions regarding those crossing ITS borders, and pressured to prevent Central American refugees from coming to US borders. And sure, more will apply for asylum at US facilities in other countries. And yes, Biden will facilitate kids and mother being reunited in the US.

This will help end the US inflicted inhumanity. 80% or more of asylum seekers will be be deported as under Obama. Congress will NOT approve $4B of new foreign aid to Central America. The problem is not solved.
========================
QUESTION ONE
How many asylum seekers should be accepted under what rules? Should we admit 2 million Wiegers from China? Why not? How about a million Christians from the Syrian camps? There are many in the world at least as deserving as those living in the societies in Central America. And even if the crisis were as bad, why is the US that should accept the millions living under
these horrible conditions? We are not even a bordering country.

IMHO, Christians in camps in Syria, Jordan and other countries have at least the same rights to US asylum as 15-17 male teens from El Salvador. Agree? Disagree?

QUESTION 2
Let us presume that Biden moves back to the policies of Obama (no new rights for those in Central America). Let us presume that that he re-instates hotels or bases on each side of the Mexican border, and continues to pressure the Mexican government (there is no other choice that won't lose both the Senate and the House in 2022.

What should be the priorities with regard to immigration and immigrants. What are the next steps. For me, this is a no brainer. Let us have a DACA citizenship bill introduced in the Senate with no other issues other than DACA folks. If Republican want to vote this down, than so be it.

That's quite a "risk"--abandoning their children that way.
If that happened here in America, we wouldn't label that as the parents taking a risk. We'd call that child abuse.
But then again, with all that newspeak that goes on....

Yes, and a measure of what they are facing in their home countries. But the parents may not even know about it. They may have been murdered or enslaved, or just plain "disappeared."

Yes, it's much safer for kids here in the US.

My family is in poverty. My son is 15 and is being forced into a gang. I have the opportunity to use all that I have to hire (with others) a bus to take my son to the US border where he might be accepted in or not. Desperation maybe, but not child abuse.
