  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hardly on all accounts. You are bearing false witness against many in this thread. I suggest you repent as bearing false witness is a sin. I am even going to take a page out of your book and say you are the one bearing false witness against Jesus by claiming He means things He never meant for all Christians.
You are bearing false witness right now you are judging me and the scripture state judge not lest ye be judge so it is you who needs to repent.

I have a hunch that "living as Jesus did" doesn't involve arguing with random strangers on the Internet. ;)
Secondly it seems that you have not read the Bible as this is what Jesus did he debated recent persuaded argued with people regarding the Bible and they were random strangers to him. This is also what Paul did recent persuaded debated that is what it’s about you need to read and study more And speak less.

He actually had three messages. One for the Jewish leaders, one for the disciples, and one for the common people.
Please prove this with chapter and verse as this is false and contradictory.

It meant that he had no suitable place in the society of the day.
I’m sorry but if you don’t understand even the basics and you actually believe that Jesus was rich there is nothing much more I can say it would take too much time to much to explain everything to you. I would change your handle for wisdom is far from what you are saying.

You are a fresh reminder of how grateful I am not to be a Christian anymore. Thank you.
Good then why don’t you stop wasting my time if you’re not a Christian why are you speaking about biblical matters if you’re not a Christian.

To repeat, Jesus wasn't rich and wasn't poor. He had sufficient resources to carry out his commission. You don't need much money if you have miracles at your disposal either. So maybe Jesus was 'poor' in money but 'rich' in miracles.

This is made up by most Christians it’s not the truth no Christian who claims this can prove it.

All one has to do is read the book.

Yes that I agree with but you are changing the standard as we speak stick to one area if you are claiming he was rich in regards to money then stick with that And don’t change halfway through the discussion.

Remind me where I said Jesus was rich.

I couldn’t care less what people agree with I only care what Jesus said.
Secondly why don’t you respond with chapter and verse rather than responding at other peoples behalf I asked you to provide me with chapter and verse.

You claimed Jesus wore expensive clothing.

He did. The vestments of a high priest. And being the son of a carpenter he could easily have built his own house. He didn't just laze around from age 12 to age 30.
"Being about his father's business" can have two meanings. It is Jewish custom to teach sons a trade during this period. I'm guessing Jesus became a skilled carpenter, which was his earthly father's business. It is also suggested that Jesus and his father built some pretty fancy buildings in Sepphorus. .

You have just made this up that’s pure conjecture none of this is in the Bible. But the Bible does say not to be wise and one in one’s all ni you have just made this up that’s pure conjecture none of this is in the Bible. But the Bible does say not to be wise in one’s own eyes.

Jesus says he who does not love me more than mother father sister brother is not worthy of me so yes indeed we must even give up our own family and their philosophies in order to follow the teachings of Jesus. Jesus stating that let the dead bury the dead Is stating not to continue morning and cherishing the memories and philosophies of the dead the way they lived the way they thought and instead to follow Jesus and his philosophies and teachings.

There is no double standard the same teaching Jesus spoke at that time for us also there are no two messages this is false.
You can go through the rest of the Gospels and find people who were saved that Jesus never commanded to give anything up NOR asked them to follow him at all. Do you believe the story about the woman at the well? Do you think she rejected Jesus and he told her to GO and sin no more INSTEAD of giving up everything and following him? I bet if I wanted to waste a lot of time I could find dozens of people that Jesus never commanded to give up things or follow him and I bet MOST of them accepted Jesus. I'm sorry but you have already decided what you want to believe so I'm not going to discuss this any more as you seem to not be interested in intellectual discussion but rather are here to preach to us your idea of the truth and I will no longer entertain such nonsense.

His robe was so valuable that the Roman Guards gambled to see who would get it.
