  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are ln the wrong subject.

There is the impeachment, and there is this Georgia thing. Try to recall what thread this is.

This thread is about an official investigation. What harassment are you talking about?

The fomer administration was a misogynistic, racist regime with authocratic tendencies with a twice divorced, three times married man who paid silence money to porn stars, mocked disabled journalists and wasn't bothered to see his VP threatened with a noose.

Some christians valued that kind of government.

But he said he is pro-life. The rest does not seem to matter.

Newly elected Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is expected to make some type of announcement on the matter "one way or another" this month, the source said.

A prosecutor in Fulton County, Georgia, has opened a criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump for his "attempts to influence the administration of the 2020 Georgia general election."

In a letter sent Wednesday to numerous Georgia state election officials, including Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis requested that they preserve documents related to Trump's phone call last month in which he pushed Raffensperger to "find" votes to reverse his election loss.

Willis said the "investigation includes, but is not limited to, potential violations of Georgia election law prohibiting the solicitation of election fraud, the making of false statements to state and local government bodies, conspiracy, racketeering, violation of oath of office, and any involvement in violence of threats related to the election's administration."

A prosecutor in Fulton County, Georgia, has opened a criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump for his "attempts to influence the administration of the 2020 Georgia general election."

A grand jury has been convened.

A criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia is set to intensify this week, as a grand jury convenes, offering the local district attorney her first shot at seeking subpoenas for records and interviews.

While Willis' investigation launched from the now-infamous call in which Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" him enough votes to win the state, it's expected to stretch well beyond that single call.

"The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there's nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you've recalculated," Trump said in one part of the call.

She is also investigating a phone call between Trump loyalist Sen. Lindsey Graham and Raffensperger, the abrupt departure of Byung "BJay" Pak, the US attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, and the false allegations of election fraud Rudy Giuliani made before Georgia legislators.

Georgia State Law Professor Clark D. Cunningham said Giuliani's claims may have violated the state's false statements statue, a felony.

You mean exactly what Trump is now being harassed for?

No, no, no... Witch Hunt.

I know Donald's off social media now, but it's not that difficult to remember the script without his prompting.

Ask Georgia.

Pretty sure Georgia is going to say something about "election integrity."
And when a high-ranking government official calls the Georgia Secretary of State politely asking to set it aside, it bears investigation.

Two grand juries have been convened.

In interviews with Willis, her staff, five former members of the team, and several people who interacted with them, The Daily Beast has learned there are now two grand juries underway in Fulton County, and jurors in these secret proceedings will soon be asked to issue subpoenas demanding documents and recordings related to the Trump investigation.

“I suspect that's in the very near future,” Willis told The Daily Beast.

Willis has publicly acknowledged that she also hired John E. Floyd, a nationally-renowned expert on state RICO charges, who is expected to consult this team. That’s relevant, given that her office is looking into the potential use of racketeering charges against Trump’s inner circle. Prosecutors would have to prove a pattern of corruption—the same way they show that mafia bosses direct underlings. Their mission would be to show that Trump and his lieutenants conspired in a “criminal enterprise” to undermine a legitimate election.

Legal expert says Trump's rally admission will help Georgia prosecutors investigating him

Personally, I doubt this is substantive, since it's unlikely that Trump has suddenly started telling his followers the unvarnished truth about anything.

True -- but Donald's pathological inability to keep his mouth shut makes it more likely he'll boast about something he shouldn't... if he wants to stay out of prison.

In this case, however, since the call was already recorded and is in the public record, such a public confession is unnecessary... still, who are we to argue with a man who wants to nail his own coffin?

Will you prove all who voted for Trump liked those things about him, and that his regime was all you say it was.

All we have is talk at this point.

And do you know anyone who hasn't sinned?
Plenty of evidence that gets countered with little more than "yeah but"s

He wants to put the nail in his own coffin but he syncophants keep putting their head between the cover and coffin and taking the nail for their king.

His rally speeches aren't depositions, they aren't accountable under law. He is legally allowed to lie to people at his speeches. I would imagine if this goes to the investigators Trump will just state he wasn't telling the truth at his rally.
