Look at the genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3.

It says this, “...which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.” (Luke 3:38).​

This means God directly made Adam and there was nobody in his line before him.

We have to think that if we were to read Genesis chapter 1 like a child would read it, we would not walk away thinking the Earth was millions of years old by reading such a chapter normally. That is not the impression I get when I read Genesis 1-3. Old Earth Creationism is trying desperately to cram a foreign idea or belief into the Bible when it is not clearly teaching such a thing.

Secular museums teach that the earth is old. Yet, the Bible does not clearly teach that the earth is old but it suggests it is young in the fact that the creation was created in six literal (24 hour days), and the genealogies in the Bible can only be traced back to Adam over a span of thousands of years and not millions. There is no mention in the Bible of a large gap of time taking place (i.e. the Gap Theory), and there is no biblical warrant to change the six literal (24 hour) days into millions of years. It says, [evening and morning to define a day]. Even the keeping of the Sabbath for OT saints points back to the creation week.

You can keep trying to rationalize AIG type ministries all you like but until you find a verse or passage that says we can be like that, then you got nothing biblical to stand upon but your own reasoning.

Yes, I believe the Earth was created in six literal days (with those days being 24 hours). I believe the Earth to be 6,000 to 10,000 years old approximately.
I believe Old Earth Creationism tends to hold to more liberal views or beliefs.
Eucumenism is one example. Another Old Earth Creation website (GodandScience.org) promotes a book on their website involving a Christian NDE (Near Death Experiences) (Note: The book was called: “Heaven is for Real”). Christian near death experiences attempting to explain Heaven or Hell usually turn out to be unbiblical. They are attempts at adding to God's Word and in creating subtle false shifts in our thinking the wrong way about the faith.

But according to you we should not have people raised up to answer these people who would denigrate SCriptures! As you told me, just preach the gospel that should enough!

So let us not call adultery sin, or homosexuality sin or abortion sin- let us just preach the gospel!

AIG is a ministry called Answers in Genesis. It is similar to the Institute for Creation REsearch or ICR. They are groups of scientists who are believers and believe in a young earth and are full time researchers studying a young earth. They do seminars, church talks, videos online, seminars and teaching classes. They bring the gospel with their research and studies and apologetics as to why a belief in teh Big Bang and Darwinian evolution is wrong and unbiblical! As over 1/2 of what is called Christianity believes in evolution (thanks to indoctrination in the government schools) they are a much needed ministry in teaching people that the Bible can be trusted when it speaks of science.

Now, I will admit, Noah's Ark museum (put forth by AIG) was impressive because it is a life sized Ark. They even mention Jesus and salvation in Him in the museum, and that was really good. However, they are still a creation focused ministry primarily in their focus involving their website, videos, conferences, etc.

So I take it you are opposed to Christian ministries that focus say on :

marriage
family
ethics in the work place from a biblical view
and all apologetics ministries that expose the errors of the cults.

Is your answer to these the same you have towards creation ministries? Just focus on the gospel instead?

I am against any church that focuses on one particular topic all too much that does not relate to our salvation... yes. While it is important to preach the truth on marriage, creationism, etc. these things are not the main goals and neither are they the main mission we are given. Preaching Jesus Christ, and salvation in Him is the main goal of our faith. Loving God and love others is our main goal. I do not think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that Creation ministeries is an oxymoron. The creation is not the main message we are to give to the world. Jesus is.

Sure, they mention Jesus, but it's like 10% Jesus and 90% creation.

I am not negating that we should preach against sin and or false beliefs. But what is a person's main focus? If a person preaches against sin but they leave out Jesus they are preaching moralism. If a person preaches against sin and very rarely preaches the gospel very often or salvation in Jesus very often, then they are not concerned in reaching new souls for Jesus. Yes, the call of the gospel includes God choosing to salvation by a belief of the truth and a sanctification of the Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:13). But this is a part of salvation in Christ. It's a call of the gospel.

You also have to think that is just silly to assume there were women before Eve. She was called “woman” because she was taken out of man (wo man). Eve is called who she is because she is the mother of all living. It would be willy to assume that there is another who actually was the mother of all living before Eve. That would be a lie for Adam to say she is the mother of all living when she is not the mother of all living.

I have taught in Bible college for years. I have specific subjects and focus on that subject and almost never mention the gospel, unless the class is on presenting the gospel. Are those wrong?
