You have had in the last two days, more than 140,000 per day infected with the covid virus. More than 1400 dead per day, which hasn’t been the total for months. Yet the major priority for about 1/3 of the adults in the country seems to be the preservation of Trump’s fragile ego.

Where are your priorities?
Trump made super-spreader events popular here.

no shift there you closed your country down, we are a little smarter than that.

Explain how it's smarter, I just pointed out our economic forecasts are pretty much the same. The only difference is our people are not dying from COVID like yours are.

So you are not a virus denier? You accept COVID19 is caused by the Sars-Cov2 coronavirus?

Why don't you point me to a paper that you say proves it exists before the name-calling? You have time, I have to go for now.

It's not name calling, you are a virus denier. Do you deny the existence of all viruses, just members of the coronaviridae, or just sars-cov2?

Most people here are just living life . What you see on the news has more than a fair amount of bull and at the very least agenda driven twists ( otherwise known as lies) attached to it and CF politics just echos it all. We are going about living life or trying to with essentially a few stupid government mandates in place. I need something at the store I go to the store, need to prep some things for the holidays I prep, doc appointment go, those still working work, bike for exercise, feed the turkeys out in the yard, the cats in the house. My suggestion: shut off your tv it's all lies anyway. And stay out of cars if you fear the numbers dead from covid, because the numbers far exceed those from car crashes alone ! 1.35M a year, that's more than 3500 every day of the week . And 35-50M with lasting or serious injuries. Yet we get in cars and just go, thinking nothing of it.
It's a lie to say that everything on TV is "all lies".

As a Christian, I'm pro-life, and believe that it should be a priority to combat the spread of this deadly virus. I realize you have your political agenda to put material wealth over lives. What good will your stuff do you when you are rotting in a casket? What good will your money do you when your loved ones (assuming you have any) die? What good is your material wealth in serving the Lord? Why lay up treasures on earth where they become corrupted and decayed instead of laying up treasures in heaven? Do you even Christian? Or do you just Trump?

Perhaps when it robs you of your family you will think differently.

I've lost colleagues to it on the front line in healthcare and I'm exposed to it daily in one of the highest risk professions, so it's disconcerting to see the level of arrogance knowing full well me and my colleagues will have to treat folks like yourself that aren't taking it seriously that get it themselves or pass it on to others as a result.

Love thy neighbour should first and foremost be their health. Economically we will recover. Look at 2008, we recovered and had record growth. Money isn't everything.

Consider your moral obligation and scriptural commandment to protect others.

What are we doing?

34% of millennials believe the world is flat (Do People Really Think Earth Might Be Flat?)

7% of the US believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...brown-cows-and-thats-not-even-the-scary-part/

And, 25% of the US believe the Earth revolves around the sun (1 In 4 Americans Thinks The Sun Goes Around The Earth, Survey Says)

What are we doing? Denying science. They do not wear a mask, social distance, or limit exposure. They do scream about their right to infect others in order to preserve their own personal freedoms.

Hopefully this thread has helped shed some light on just what we’re dealing with here on a nationwide basis. The greatest public health blunder in American history will also be a part of Trump’s legacy.

Doubtful.

They will just blame it on something else:

Doctor - "Your dad just died of COVID-19."

Denier - "No he didn't. He died of underlying issues."

Doctor - "Which were?"

Denier - "He had heart issues."

Doctor - "We didn't see any evidence of that."

Denier - "He had cancer."

Doctor - "We didn't see any evidence of that."

Denier - "He had diabetes."

Doctor - "We did actually see evidence of that. How long has he had it."

Denier - "Almost his entire life. 60+ years."

Doctor - "Did he have it under control?"

Denier - "I believe so."

Doctor - "And he lived with it that entire time."

Denier - "Yes."

Doctor - "And he caught coronavirus last week."

Denier - "That's what people tell me, but I know that's a lie. Coronavirus isn't real. All I know is he got really sick last week with the flu or something."

Doctor - "This wasn't the flu."

Denier - "Whatever."

Doctor - "And your dad passed away 6 days later."

Denier - "Because of diabetes."

Doctor - "Which he successfully lived with for 60+ years, which his charts say was under control and which was not the cause of death."

Denier - "Whatever. I know coronavirus isn't real, and even if it is real it isn't serious and I know he died of diabetes. I know you're just saying that because you get money for saying that."

I am not aware of anyone other than Trump and his immediate circle that gives a fig about Trump's fragile ego. Why in the world would you see any correlation between Trump's fragile ego and an increase Covid infection? Though I don't see anyone prioritizing Trump's fragile ego , What priorities would you suggest we have ? Pfiser has announced good news on a vaccine they claim to be 90 % effective. I think prioritizing the development of a vaccine such as that is a fairly good move.

For too many Americans the lives of others, including those of their own family and friends, mean nothing if it means being inconvenienced in any way.

You need to wear a mask to protect your elderly mothers life and potentially spare her from death? "That's an infringement of my god given Constitutional rights."

Exactly. And in the case of a Christian, having that attitude means putting your own will over God's Will, which is a grievous sin. But they do it anyway, which kinda leads you to wonder what's really in their hearts. (TBH, I don't really wonder that much, I kinda know.)

Well to be fair, we haven't had like any leadership on the virus. There's a great number of Americans that distrust science and think it's not a big deal if you die from this or become disabled and unable to work or they still believe it's a hoax. And a great number simply don't care about the people around them or that hospitals will become so overwhelmed to the point of collapse that they will not be able to help anyone with any healthcare need. Also our leadership has driven all of those crazy ideas and encouraged gathering for rallies and stuff. There is a number that is trying to be responsible but clearly it's not enough. I think I read someone (who possibly barely graduated high school) here in another section telling people to go and live their lives without masks just a few weeks ago, when in reality our country is entering a dark time of covid infection explosions, people will die- of covid and being unable to get help with other medical issues because the hospitals are so overwhelmed, we have the very real possibility of several states having their hospitals and medical teams collapse , and a sitting president that is hiding because his pride is hurt and doing nothing to tell people to wear a mask because he is somehow hoping the economy will still recover. Dead and disabled people don't spend money or work for it, so ........it's going to be bad. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but a vaccine won't be here for regular people for like at least 4 months or more. And then you will have the same anti science nonsense spewed against taking the vaccine, so our battle with this will last longer than most other first world countries.

Where are your priorities?

There are many Americans who simply believe that the death counts that are attributed to covid are not caused by covid, and just happen to be a person with pre-existing conditions who were likely going to die anyway with or without covid being a factor. This leads them to conclusion that the numbers are inflated and people dying from truly other causes are being counted because they just happened to test positive for covid too. The shutdowns, done at the state level, has caused a reciprocal affect where people think their liberties are being infringed upon. These people are yelled at and ostracized by other people who see covid as a real killer and who truly believe shutdowns are a viable option to stopping the spread. When the shutdowns show statistically to be a failure the first group feels confident in their position while the second group blames the "failures" on the first group because they didn't follow protocols and government suggestions.

Bottomline, America is full of people who truly believe the saying: dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery; and apply that saying to shutdowns and mask mandates. America is also full of folks who are opposed to this ideology as well. Just another example of warring factions. I'm sure y'all have that too though.
