Hi CF community.

Got a question.
It's about trying to find: 100% soft-cotton long-sleeved men's shirts on-line; big and tall sizes.

I was looking for a forum to put this question in; but I haven't found a forum for clothing in any of the Leisure & Society forums. So I though I would post it here.

This is not some frivolous question; because all the Big&tall stores in the Eugene area have closed.

The Wal-mart and Fred Meyer's stores I used to get my clothes from; no longer sells any 100% cotton shirts; they are all a blended with Polyester; which I'm allergic to.

I have ordered three shirts from Amazon 2 years ago; they are OK; but are more of a corduroy type and are ruff; I can wear them up-town; but not relaxing at home.

My last soft pull over cotton shirts I bought at Wal-mart about 10 years ago; have all worn out; and my last one; which I wear at home only; is full of holes!

This is not an uncommon problem; as a friend was telling me; he no longer buys on-line as he never gets what they were advertising. So he goes to Hong Kong on business; and buy's clothes there. Wished I had that option! :)

And looking at several online stores and the reviews in the last couple of years; all say that the stores are going for the cheaper ruff cotton. One reviewer said the new cotton shirt he bought from the Gildan's Men's store; was like wearing an old burlap bag!

Do you have any advice; or know of a store in your area that sells soft cotton shirts; on-line?:)

Thanks.

I don’t know if they have big and tall but I just got some great cotton items at Lands End online, and they were heavily discounted! It’s true that it’s getting harder and harder to find cotton.

A few years ago I had a hard time finding 100% cotton sweatshirts anymore. After weeks of searching, I found them at a Nautica outlet. I made a couple of trips over time; and bought out their inventory for my size each time. The quality is great! I don't know if they have your size.

They do have an online site: Nautica - The Official Site For Apparel, Accessories, Home & More.

They used to have a big and tall shop. That was the name, big and tall shop for men. I might have just been here but maybe if you could look on line for that name. If you aren't adverse to it you could probably find some at thrift stores

Yes they had a B&T company; with two stores here; they went out of business.

Most clothing stores have B&T departments; Wal mart has one; but no 100% cotton shirts.

I don't immediately have a solution for you, since I don't have any need to know where to find men's clothing items :p However, I can completely empathize with the frustrations of trying to find clothes online that aren't disastrously different from the item descriptions, tailored to fit elfin-sized people, or made of hideously uncomfortable blends of materials.

I hope you can find something from the suggestions made!
