That fear is misguided. That or they don't fear the proud boys because they are white (so they know they're safe) and conservative....never mind declarations of civil war. Whereas nebulous left wingers walking in the streets who, therefore MUST be anti or BLM and would like to see equal treatment of minroties and whites ARE a threat to them because minorities should not be treated the same as white folk.

But will he be able to target his base in and the right places will his efforts to undermined election institutions be enough to steal the election, that is the only question.

Do not be taken in by the effort of these group's defenders to make out that the Chamber of Commerce or the Tea Parties or just anyone who holds an American flag represents an opposite and equal force.

The police and military will not fight. They are not all brainless conservative operatives. The military leadership is a healthy mix of right and left. There could be some outlier Sheriff departments in conservative counties who react strongly, but that will be an impotent effort.

Yeah. Boy it's too bad America didn't have competent leadership in dealing with the issues of concern that these protestors brought forward. Then it wouldn't have completely blown out of control.

Say what you want about it, it happenned because Trump is a one trick pony and strong arming didn't work. He doesnt know how to lead, he doesn't know how to compromise, he doesn't know how to listen. His most dangerous followers (not you, the gun types and big talkers) are the same way.

I'll use the words of the guy with the best words when I explain leadership;

"Leadership: whatever happens you're responsible. Whatever doesn't happen, you're responsible."

At some point, his supporters will fully grasp the implications of that quote.

Note; I'm not saying looting and pillaging is/was the way to go. I'm saying Trump handled it poorly. You think there haven't been galvanizing incidents like this with other presidents? Please. Other presidents just understood how to deal with issues

I think there are good reasons to keep the Electoral College. I am merely answering the proposed question about what Democrats are likely to claim if Trump wins without the popular vote--like last time. The founders of this country also made grave mistakes and their ideas should be reevaluated every generation.

Maybe I misunderstand your point...I do not consider the lawful action of the police, toward violent mobs, to be classified as fighting--not in the political sense.

The irony in this--or the bad joke, perhaps--is that the Democratic Party has been changing the election laws big time, and all across the country during the past several years, with the object of helping them win more elections.

But yet, to hear some people talk, if we elect the President IN ACCORDANCE with the Constitutional system that has been in effect since the founding of our country...it's supposed to be some sort of travesty or injustice.
