I think many people from some cultures can find the show disrespectful to their cutures or beliefs. One episode they were covering Polynesia and the host was saying one of the Hawaiian goddesses/gods was a alien.

I find that can be viewed as disrespectful to some cultures.

Why? The show is nonsense to begin with. In the context everything is discussed, how is that “theory” disrespectful??

UFO cultists tend to do the same to mainstream religious and cultural practices as well.

There are plenty of ideas that have Jesus and/or Satan as aliens in disguise, or to have traditional miracles explained by made up super science.

Just about anything you can think of is disrespectful to some cultures.

Some people find the science show Cosmos disrespectful because it doesn’t talk about firmament or it makes a case for Catholic Church burning some monk who actually had a limited understanding how universe was made up.

It is also about totally irrelevant until you are actually interacting with the norms of that culture.

If I eat bacon in the morning I could care less how some Muslin in Egypt would feel about it.

Or seeing some document about sex education in schools around Europe and seeing a naked woman I don’t have to go in to hysterics like some evangelical old granny in Midwest US.

I've been watching this show for 10 years. If I hear someone complaining about it, then I tell them that no one is twisting their arm to watch it and they could watch something else. Problem solved.

Good response.
