• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Ive had three previous miscarriages. The first miscarriage happened when I went to get a chronic villus sampling, to see if the baby has any chromosomal abnormalities. I didnt want to do it but was urged to because of my age (im a little older) and it was just an awful mess where I was bleeding everywhere and thats when my baby's heart stopped. The following two miscarriages happened around 10 weeks. Now, I am pregnant again. I want to be a mommy. I didnt have a great childhood. I was molested by a family member and when I spoke up about it to my family, they ostracized me. I was never invited to parties, dinners, family outtings. It was awful. I always said that when I become a mommy, i will show nothing but love and compassion for my babies. Im starting to lose faith. im 7 weeks pregnant and i want to have this baby so bad. will i ever become a mommy? Ive been praying and praying. I dont know what else to do.

My wife and I had several miscarriages, also. We found out from her ob/gyn that her womb had issues and a fertilized sperm cell would never be able to penetrate effectively enough for a successful pregnancy. Well, God and time proved that ob/gyn wrong, thank God! We have two healthy "miracle" children, boy and a girl. Our boy came when we were 30 and daughter, 39. There IS hope with faithful prayer.

Madison, We all have to learn to be content with God's love and provision, myself included, in our own way. Sometimes we do not get that for what our heart aches. There is no singular reason for that. It is neither always due to some lacking on our part. God might have something else in mind for you which He knows is better at the time. God loves each of us and has a purpose designed into each one of us. He is not our Jeanie to give us what we want, but our Creator and Sustainer and Savior and Lord, God. While we were yet in the womb, He KNEW us and He, now being our Father through Christ Jesus, is intimately aware of our struggles and desires us to KNOW Him and experience His love for us. Love is NOT giving a child what they want but what they need and many times the two do not equate to each other as the parent sees and knows much more than the child. Our Father in heaven can be faithfully entrusted with our care and provision. We can be at peace with this regardless of how stormy or unsettling or anxious the horizon appears. He WILL provide for us what we need today. Thank you for helping me to remember that this morning. I just got hit with a tremendous challenge to my peace last night.

Dear Madison,
I understand you are going through painful experiences.

Have you heard this:
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. -Matthew 11:29

Why Jesus offers us to take His yoke?
It is because Jesus is willing to bear the sufferings with us. That is how good is our Lord.

Dear sister, you shared with us your hurtful child experiences. How painful it was and is ! Release forgiveness to those who wronged you ! Why? You don’t want any prayer of yours block especially now you need God’s grace and strength to deliver this new baby.

Dear sister,
Tell God how much you love Him, He will deliver you, for this is what we have heard:

"Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. -Psalms 91:14
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. -Psalms 91:15

Praise the Lord in your despair, sister. He will give you strength.

This another promise we have heard :
You shall serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. -Exodus 23:25
None shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. -Exodus 23:26

Pray over the promise, my dear sister.

Dear sister, you know someone who are Christians and have just born a baby or have children; ask them to bless the fruit of your womb. Believe that you have received the blessings.

Dear sisters, do some giving ; give to orphans. The Lord knows what you are doing and what you are concerned about.

Believe that you are blessed when you give.

Lastly, remember to do this:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. -Joshua 1:8
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9

Take courage, my sister and believe that you find the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Be strong in Him. God bless you.

I’m sorry you’re hurting. There’s a good Christian book that addresses the issue. The author suffered the same and shares her story. I read it a few years ago.

Every Bitter Thing Is Sweet by Sara Hagerty

Whatever lost expectations readers are facing—in family, career, singleness, or marriage—Every Bitter Thing Is Sweet will bring them closer to a God who longs for them to know him more. What does it look like to know God’s nearness when life breaks? What does it mean to receive his life when earthly life remains barren? How can God turn the bitterness of unmet desire into new flavors of joy?

With exquisite storytelling and reflection, Hagerty brings readers back to hope, back to healing, back to a place that God is holding for them alone—a place where the unseen is more real than what the eye can perceive.

Yours in His Service,

~bella

JS: when my husband and I first tried to get pregnant I lost several pregnancies. My doctor said that would pass and it did. We have four grown children and one I lost after the first trimester.

Still my son and his wife cannot have children of their own so they're talking about adopting. That is another way to become a mom and those kids can be loved just as much as our own flesh. I know this because of a friend who was adopted. She was always greatful to her parents for choosing her and her brother.
