I was a Christian for my first 6 years here. I like it here, so I didn't leave.

Well by all means stay. I'm not trying to get rid of you, all I'm saying is that when you come to a Christian forum you're going to get scripture thrown at you so don't complain when you do.

I didn't complain about scripture; I complained about threats.

What I was attempting to convey was, if we didn't know about stirring a shot of instant coffee into a cup of hot water and all we knew about was diffusion, we may assume that it took longer to prepare than it actually did. So long, in fact, that we would wonder how the coffee is still so hot.

I was using an analogy for how long evolutionists believe it took humans to develop.
You seem to have forgotten that science has gotten to the point that they can measure how long ago rocks were formed. They have measured the age of the rocks around fossils, and sure enough, those who said those fossils and rocks have been there for a long time were right.

So there is a big problem with saying the fossil record could have come about quickly: It didn't.

Is this better? It's a direct Biblical quote.

Revelation 20:11-15. "Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

My point is that measurements assume many things.

No. I describe them as transitional because they contain traits of two groups.

The explanation I favour for these transitional forms is that they are closely related evolutionary families. Evolution is a useful explanation and is consistent with evidence without resorting to supernatural intervention.

You use the word transitional because you believe one kind changed over time into another kind. We do not. We believe God made each kind. Lots of variety within the kind, but still the same kind.

@AV1611VET,.. since I am still learning scripture can you be so kind as to please show me the verse that says something about how unimaginable it is for the good that God has in store for those that love Him?
Sure thing!

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Btw, I apologize for hijacking this thread and going off topic,.. I just won't be accused of making threats when I am simply quoting scripture.
You didn't make any threats, April.

You just hit a nerve.

Yeah,.. it's sort of funny how I was accused of having nothing left to defend myself but when I start quoting scripture I am accused of making threats instead of them defending their point of view. Call me crazy, but I thought that's what a debate was. And I can't help it if they don't like truth. Like I said before I'm just the messenger. God has said there will be judgement among the unbelievers and if I didn't tell them so I would either be a liar or hiding the truth. Cause I care,.. I don't want to do either.

And in none of these quotes, did you actually quote scripture except the last one ... AFTER you were called out.
You know what I give up. Jesus could be standing right in front of you performing miracles and you could still find ways to disprove that He isn't really the Son of God. Whatever,.. if you want to argue about things argue until you're blue in the face I don't care. You'll be the one to stand before God one day and His judgement while the rest of us will have the blood of Christ to cover us for our sins will only really matter in the end anyways not mine or anybody else's so why should I argue with someone who doesn't even care about Him since He's a big guy who can take care of Himself. SMH  Just know that Jesus loves you no matter what and hopefully you'll see the truth soon. :)

I will go ahead and leave this conversation with this video.

It's not a threat,.. and besides that God's the one who said it not me so don't shoot the messenger.

I have not run out of things to say I am simply done with this conversation because no matter what I say you won't listen to reason and fine so maybe I did say it,.. but I was quoting scripture. I feel sorry for you actually. @AV1611VET,.. since I am still learning scripture can you be so kind as to please show me the verse that says something about how unimaginable it is for the good that God has in store for those that love Him? I can't remember.

It still came from scripture I just quoted the actual words. If you're so worried about being threatened by judgement then go ahead and repent and confess Christ as your Lord and Savior then you won't even have to worry about it anymore.

I'm not worried at all. But, I merely hope a third party reader will realize the ridiculousness of your position.

Sometimes incorrectly. Sometimes correctly.

The problem with creationist claims for measuring the age of the earth is that they use bad assumptions.

So the idea of a God who came down to earth in human form to die for you out of love so you wouldn't have to is ridiculous but this,..

If I look in the fossil record and see that eohippus changed into a horse and zebra, does this mean they are the same kind?

If I look at the fossil record and see that an ape changed into a human, does this mean they are the same kind?

If I look at the fossil record and see that reptiles changed into mammals, does this mean that they are the same kind?

Except one small problem. Paul says it is written, but it is not written, at least not in the Bible as we know it. Was he just making this up?

But we digress.

The fossil record doesn't show one kind changing into another kind. It simply shows fossils, the 'this changed into that' is simply the story woven around to explain the fossils.
