  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"The Origin, Use and Decline of Early Mormon - Symbolism"

"All-Seeing
Eves?
by Allen D. Roberts "

It is very long, and it is very interesting. It is also very hard to copy paste, it's very erratic and skips some parts when copying. This is how some of it copied: sort of took 2 different paragraphs and joined them together---it really has to be read and not copy pasted.

I was able to get this way down from the start of it. It is explanations of where their graphic symbols come from.

"To Mormons, the sun, moon, and stars together represent the three degrees of giory in the resurrection.40 The individual symbols also have didactic meanings of their own, the sun, for example, dgdjhg the Celestial Kingdom. The sun has universally represented God, and to Christians, both God the Father and Christ the Son. In Mormon rhetoric, the moon stands for the Terrestrial Kingdom. The moon was one of two primary dieties worshiped by the ancient Egyptians and also played an important rde in Hebrew festivals and holidays. By withdrawing its light, the moon presages important events. In some cultures, the moon has figuratively represented mothers or the passage of time. Stars have signified children, an& to Mormons, the Telestial Kingdom. The stars forming the Ursa Major on the west central tower of the Salt Lake Temple represent the priesthood. Why the five pointed stars point downward on the cast and west facades and upward on north and south walls has never been explained."
