Can you look into world history and find a government that has not turned on its people causing a revolt?

What would be an example of government turning on its people?

How many times have those in power disenfranchised the lower classes for their own gain?

That happens much more regularly under countries where corporations and business are given much more freedom. From a European perspective the US labour system looks like out and out exploitation - almost no holidays, very few worker protections, limited access to health care and so on.

Given that without a vaccine, the number of proven methods for combating the spread of COVID-19 in the current medical toolbox is extremely limited, so its irresponsible to summarily dismiss the usefulness of masks based on anecdotal accounts!

Healthcare workers on the frontline appear to have always placed confidence in wearing masks as an effective deterrent for years, so until their are enough medical studies to prove otherwise, at the very least we should be giving masks the benefit of the doubt!

Fire fighters use a SCBA mask. They don't wear a surgical mask.

Part of activating our plan includes the ability to handle overflow morgue capacity if needed. Abrazo has taken a proactive approach by ordering refrigerated storage in the event it may be needed during a surge of COVID patients,” the spokesperson said.

What does any of this have to do with the free ice cream in the post I quoted?

Some posts seem very anxious to move the discussion to a certain set of right-wing talking points rather than addressing the subject being discussed. When that happens to obvious joke posts this attempt at distraction becomes even more obvious.

Even the GOP wises up and imparts a little Keynesian policy in a severe crisis. Unfortunately they'll drop it like a hot potato for their trickle-down, horse and sparrow, supply-side, non-sense as soon as the smoke clears.

"In addition to those deaths, Texas reported a new high for hospitalizations for the 10th consecutive day, according to FOX 26 Houston.

“That’s why we’re asking people to wear face masks,” Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales told local media. “I am now having to order additional body bags and morgue trailers. People have to understand how real it is.”

In Nueces County, the morgue is already at full capacity, and Nueces County Medical Examiner Dr. Adel Shaker has requested an extra morgue trailer to help with the overflow, according to the Texas Tribune.

“We have seen very few deaths for the first few months of the pandemic, so the FEMA trailer was placed in another city. But the need is here now,” he said."
