Seattle Protesters Establish 'Autonomous Zone' Outside Evacuated Police Precinct

Anti-police-brutality demonstrations are cooling off in much of the country. Not so in Seattle, where over a week of protests and street clashes has resulted in police abandoning a precinct building, demonstrators establishing an "autonomous zone" in the surrounding streets, and a brief occupation of city hall.

The site of much of this drama has been the Seattle Police Department (SPD) Eastern Precinct in the city's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Late Sunday night and early Monday morning saw police and National Guard troops push protesters away from the Eastern Precinct with tear gas and pepper spray in what local alt-weekly The Stranger describe as "the most aggressive and sustained" response to protests yet.​

The police did not run away, they were ordered to withdraw because the Mayor wanted to make a gesture of trust by allowing the protestors to move into the area around the police building. We can see how well that worked out, liberal mayor, liberal city council, liberal assisted disaster, just like the other cities around the nation where liberals have "control". Only a matter of time till someone gets killed, the armed protestor militia have already tried to get money from the businesses in this area in return for protection. one of the liberal city council members unlocked city hall last night so protestors could invade it.

Seattle has had problems with violence for some time. You couldn't pay me enough to work for that city, and I wouldn't feel safe living near it either. How sad.

I wouldn't' be too quick to assume that is the case. "No one" is excluding too large a group. The politicians supposedly, but obviously not in reality, in charge of Seattle may not be willing to use force yet but that may change as the situation progresses. Others, both governmental and otherwise , might be willing and tempted to step in if it doesn't change. When a government abandons its mission to keep order, groups that relish disorder flock to the area. At this point, I would not be surprised to see left wing extremists and right wing extremists engaging in open warfare in the streets of Seattle. All due to the government's lack of responsible action. That, in a vacuum, would not bother me so much but I am alarmed for the innocent residents of that city that are neither kind of extremist and are being abandoned by their elected officials.

Seattle protesters declare 'cop free' zone

The first night without a police presence was “rainy and peaceful and full of speeches from activists, agitators, poets and socialist city council members,” according to Capitol Hill Seattle, a self-described community-based news blog.

If they can keep out agitators and criminals it might work out ok.

It seems that they don't know how "lost and found" bureaus work.

The police chief of Seattle said they are getting calls to report crimes but the autonomous zone 'leaders' will only let in EMT medical personnel.

They will 'self immolate.' This free zone is not so free. They set up barriers to keep people out, posted guards to enforce their border and they have strict 'immigration' laws on who gets in. In effect they have endorsed the Trump immigration agenda. A not so "free" zone.

These are the same people who are the promoters of open borders and who have blasted President Trump for building a wall and the enforcement of our borders.
One of the first acts of these anarchists in their brand new country was to set up barriers/walls to separate their new country from the USA. Their borders manned by armed guards only allowing certain people to enter.
Their hypocrisy is on display for all the world to see and an early Christmas gift for those on the right!
