Frustrated with the lack of singles groups?

Is anyone else getting fed up with churches just throwing the singles off to the side, ignoring them completely, or straight up keeping them apart?

I remember 10-15 or so years ago, nearly every congregation had some sort of a singles ministry where there was volunteering, study, and no pressure activities. Yet now, you don't even hear an acknowledgement that we still even exist.

Have you considered looking for other churches around your area, which do have a singles group, or bible studies for singles?

I attend two churches myself right now. One, which I've been attending at for 11 years, and serve at. There are usually about 80-100 people who attend for Sunday services. In that time, only the first few years there were any type program for singles. I started attending a second church, that my family attends. It is a much bigger church, and because of that, they have been blessed to have much more programs focusing on almost everyone, and where ever they are in their walk in life and Christ.

I've attended the young adults/singles group there when I can. The great part about it is, many people who attend, have a different regular church they go to on Sundays. Hopefully, you can maybe find a welcoming group like that nearby.

Another option to consider, if your current church has other singles, is to take the initiative and start a study group yourself. You'd have to first gather interest, and then bring it up to the church leaders, to see if they'd approve and provide you with the resources needed. Sometimes if there is a need in a church, God may be calling us to do something about it, with his help, rather than wait for someone else to take notice.

The trend in my area is when a Christian singles does start up....it dies off within a year or 2. One ended likely because the male leader had a thing for the lady leader. (They both headed off the group, and split the small groups between men and women).

I GUESS...they were dating?! I dunno, but something happened and they split up...and he left the group altogether. The group fizzled out after that. Apparently, it wasn't a church sponsored event, so it was never advertised. They just let them use the space.

I wasn't hearing that about churches 10-15 years ago. I don't know how much the scene has changed in that time, but I do know that I got older and the group I was in isn't really around anymore (lots of people in it moved or got married).

My new job has connections to a local Cavalry Chapel. The owners go there and hire employees that have went thru their 'renew' program. Since starting work there, I've emailed the local Cavalry Chapel and inquired about small group opportunities but haven't received a reply yet. This is probably due to COVID 19, however.

Yeah, the Calvary I go to here has only a high school group. All others are expected to meet in small “community groups”. They even disbanded the large men’s group. Not sure why they did that... The only time I meet another single is during missions, and that is only a few times per year.

Now, with the lack of any real social groups in church, much less singles, as a man, if you see a woman you're interested in at a church service...you have to figure a way each Sunday to see where she typically sits, and then sit there later on. lol
