What are you listening to, right now?!

Crickets - literally and figuratively.

Its a lazy, sunny, Autumn afternoon here and there's a light, background whine of crickets coming across from the nearby trees.

I can also hear surf crashing, quietly, on the beach, a hundred metres away.

In the foreground there's a bunch of rosella's vigorously debating branch occupancy and, over on the sand dunes, a riot of black cockatoos are in the process of wrecking a wattle tree with the usual cursing and swearing.

Overlaying this soundscape there's a sprinkling of chirps and twitters from a whole range of anonymous little birds.

That's it.
