HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE ARE REALLY FOLLOWING GOD OR NOT?

Hi all,

We are told to "Examine ourselves to see wheather we are in the faith or not except we find ourselves reprobates" *2 CORINTHIANS 13:5 this is because in the last days there will be many false teachers *MATTHEW 24:24; 2 PETER 2:1-3.

So with these throughts in mind the question I am posing here is...

HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE ARE REALLY FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD OR NOT OR FOLLOWING MAN MADE TEACHINGS AND TRADITIONS THAT HAVE LED US AWAY FROM GOD AND HIS WORD?

Some interesting questions and scriptures below to get us thinking....

HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT SIN IS?

ROMANS 14:23 ...... WHATSOEVER IS NOT OF FAITH IS SIN

ROMANS 3:20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.

ROMANS 7:7, What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I HAD NOT KNOWN SIN, BUT BY THE LAW: FOR I HAD NOT KNOWN LUST, EXCEPT THE LAW HAD SAID, YOU SHALL NOT COVET.

1 JOHN 3:4, Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.

HAVE YOU BEEN TAUGHT THAT GODS SABBATH COMMANDMENT GRIEVOUS TO YOU?

WILL THOSE WHO KNOWINGLY REJECT GODS WORD AND CONTINUE IN KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN ENTER INTO GOD'S KINGDOM?

SIN is KNOWINGLY breaking of any one ANY ONE of God's 10 Commandments (JAMES 2:9-11; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4). Those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they count the blood of the covenant and unholy thing and reject the gift of God’s dear son crucifying the son of God afresh *HEBREWS 10:26-31; HEBREWS 6:4-8; ROMANS 6:23.

JOHN 3:19-21 [19], And THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, THAT LIGHT IS COME INTO THE WORLD, AND MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT, BECAUSE THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL. [20], For EVERY ONE THAT DOES EVIL HATES THE LIGHT, NEITHER COMES TO THE LIGHT, LEST HIS DEEDS SHOULD BE REPROVED. [21], But HE THAT DOES TRUTH COMES TO THE LIGHT, THAT HIS DEEDS MAY BE MADE MANIFEST, THAT THEY ARE WORKED IN GOD.

The wrong motive will not help me find the truth and can actually help me not find the truth.

There is a ton of scripture that could really help in my spiritual growth, so I should not be wasting my time if what I’m studying is not to help me help others.

I like to: win an argument, look scholarly, put the other person down, show how wrong a person is, be very intellectual, be academical in my knowledge, and just study for study sack, but I do not feel the Spirit is with me helping me?

If my life is changed for the good out of a study and I see how both my words and life help change others for the good, I can look back and see the Spirit was with me and actually leading me to the truth, “my” wisdom goes beyond my personal ability and this old truth changes me.

The truth is there, so even those not led by the Spirit can stubble upon it.

I guess the point is we can close our eyes and ears to God's Word as God never forces us to believe it. We cannot know the way if our we have no oil to light the lamp and if there is no lamp how can we find our way when the road is dark and narrow?

Not to those who have received God's forgiveness and believe and follow Gods' Word by faith that works by Love dear Hark. God's Word is a blessing and a curse. A blessing to those who believe and follow and a curse to those who do not believe and do not follow and reject God's son. I believe these scriptures are a blessed because they help us to be vigilant for our adversary is walking about like a raoring lion seeking who he may devour. It is time for us to wake up.
