Many will come to me in that day and say Lord I did this or that in your name and I will say to them depart from me, I never knew you. A paraphrase. Even the Devil believes and trembles. We are not comparing Baptist to Baptist here. The faith is built on a false prophetess.

Why would you use a Baptist anology?
After all your faith icon implies your Catholic.
What point is it to use scriptures to demean someone's Faith?
By definition Christian equates to Catholic or universal religion.

His faith icon is Christian, not Catholic. At CF Catholic means Roman Catholic. He is not Roman Catholic, but Christian. His point is that the Seventh Day Adventist Church is a false religion based upon a false prophetess. I think you will agree with that, will you not?

Catholic with a small "c" means universal church.

SDA get a great deal absolutely wrong... to include the Book of Daniel.

I simply stated that, no matter how you wish to define Catholic or catholic, the definition used by the Christian Forums is Roman Catholic, the denomination. He self-idenitifies as Christian, not Catholic.

Could you please show where in CF rules it states Catholics are not Christian?

He is not Roman Catholic, but Christian.

Ahhh.... ever hear of St.Pacian, Bishop of Barcelona? No? Here is a quote from him.

“And shall the Fathers rather follow our authority, and the antiquity of Saints give way to be emended by us, and times now putrifying through their sins, pluck out the grey hairs of Apostolic age? And yet, my brother, be not troubled; Christian is my name, but Catholic my surname. The former gives me a name, the latter distinguishes me. By the one I am approved; by the other I am but marked.” (Epistle to Sympronian 7 [A.D. 375])

Just a side note, Roman Catholicism is just one of many Rites within the Catholic Church

I find it sad that a thread is used to make a long list of items which attack any religious body, but especially a Christian denomination. As far as vegetarianism goes, most of us would be a lot healthier if we became vegetarians and I doubt very much that the SDA Church actually demands such of their members. Also, there seems to be some evidence that the Essenes were vegetarians and many believe that Jesus associated closely with said group, as he never condemned them.

good points - all.

Perhaps you missed my point. My point was that he, a non-Catholic, was asserting that he, as well as all others here at CF, are, indeed, true catholics. While there is truth to that statement, the administrators here at CF recognize standard denominational terminology and thus distinguish adherents of the Pope in Rome as being Catholics and all other as being members of various other denominations.

Do you believe that I am a true catholic, such as yourself?

No I would not.

Do you believe, then, that Mrs. White was a true prophetess whose every word is, indeed, inspired by God Almighty?

Is this a form of fiction that you are writing or did the person you posted to actually say such a thing?

Facts matter.

Would you explain further what you mean by "a false prophetess"? Thank you.

Thank you, I am tired of bickering.
Just like Baptist or Word of Faith not all agree.
There are things in Word of Faith that sicken me,I simply know they are not mainstream.
Discord will always cause bitterness.

You are evading my question.

I do not believe asking where do you turn for answers, when discussing matters such as these being evasive. For example, do you turn to a pastor, church elder, the bible, or your personal opinion?

A true catholic Christian is any Christian regardless of denominational affiliation.

You mean like being a member of some sort of invisible organization, and is what you stated above biblical?

How about this: Catholic with a capital C normally means a Roman Catholic (and the other rites), although there are Old Catholics, Independent Catholics, etc.

But catholic with a small c normally refers to Christian orthodoxy. It's pretty obvious that not all Christians are orthodox in their beliefs, even if we don't all agree on the essentials or specifics that define orthodoxy.

Quite true. However, it seems to be rank heresy for a Roman Catholic to agree to such a definition. Thus, Fidelibus has routinely evaded this accepted definition.

Okay, but on the other hand, it isn't the case that any and every person we'd define as a "Christian" also qualifies as a "catholic" with a small 'c'.
