To keep it simple, hell is practical, not only a torture chamber thing. It is a punishment thing, but including for a very practical reason that God knows is necessary.
Now, if you want to get into this with me > here is what I offer in much more detail >
God is the Creator of all things.
yes
He loves everything He created, according to
Genesis 1.
After the fall of Adam and Eve, God was not so pleased with His creation. Right? And God brought the flood upon His creation on this earth . . . right? Or, do you not believe this is God's word??
Already, I have some question about how well you know the Bible, because you just said God loved His creation, but you have left out how Adam and Eve went against God's love and get consequences for themselves. And then mankind so evil became flooded. Before we get to our discussion about hell, we need to deal with some other items which can effect if there needs to be hell or not. Clearly, according to the Bible, God found it necessary to bring the flood on the creation which He made but which was ruined by humans. So, yes God does judge, in any case. But He was being practical, not merely vengeful like Satanic beings can be. Satan is the one who accuses God of being unfair; yet, Satan is the one who can be very cruel in order to get and enforce what he wants.
Now, one may consider that the humans flooded were not tortured, first; so from this you might argue that God would not establish a place of permanent suffering. They surely suffered the pain of drowning, though, I would say, and they suffered as much as each did, about seeing that water gradually rising to kill them. So, there was torment in the process. But it was not God directly making them so suffer. Plus, their own wickedness put them there and made them able to be tormented by their fear.
But the Bible is clear how torment of fear comes because of a person not being in genuine love, and being in Satan's kingdom >
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)
So, fear of death is a problem of the sinner's nature making the person a slave of fear. And you can look up Hebrews 2:14-15, yourself, to see what God's word also says about this. Ones in a selfish nature are able to suffer torment of fear, not because God is torturing them, but because their own nature makes them suffer the fear.
Likewise, no one can suffer torment in hell, unless he or she has the evil-spirited nature of Satan. There is "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience," our Apostle Paul does say in Ephesians 2:2. And we all have experienced how in our selfishness we have been able to already suffer different sorts of torment of fear.
So, if people suffer in hell, this will not be God's fault!!!!
But God hates Satan and demons and does not want anyone to live in the lake of fire that He created.
exactly!! God does not want anyone to suffer, not even Satan . . . in my opinion. However > Satan's evil spirit has its own nature so it suffers, and people living in this spirit of selfishness share with Satan in his problem. If you don't like people suffering in hell, do not piggy-back on Satan, by being selfish. Trust in Jesus to turn us "from the power of Satan to God" > see Acts 26:18 > "and you will find rest for your souls," Jesus guarantees, in Matthew 11:28-30.
But if anyone stubbornly keeps on living in fear, which the Bible clearly says not to do, whoever you are will suffer torment, in this life because of fear and worry, plus after you die. Because that evil spirit of fear will not go out of existence; it will have a place to be kept and controlled by fire so it can not go just anywhere to mess with things. So, do not stay with Satan's spirit of fear and its torment, or you can go where it is going.
My mom said a loving God would not create hell because He does not want people to suffer eternally, so she does not believe it exists. Why isn't this true?
I think God knows more than your mother does. And I have offered scripture to go with what I have offered. You have offered an argument, but God knows what actually works, practically. Satan's evil spirit has to go somewhere, and it is so stubborn and stupid that fire is needed to keep it managed the way God knows is right. So, do not be a sewer bucket of Satanic stuff which will be in the flaming sewer.
Do not be a vessel of hate and unforgiveness and lusts and anger and wrath and frustration and arguing and complaining or fear and worry. Or you can go where that cruelly foolish filth is going. Right now, people can suffer torment because of living in such nasty filthy nonsense, but now humans can use their bodies to feel some pleasure to make them feel a little nicer; but after they die, they won't have their physical bodies for feeling a little bit of pleasure > there will only be that nasty horrible filth and fire to keep it in its place, and how it is natural for selfish character to react to that fire.
So, possibly you can see, now, part of why Jesus considered it worthwhile to so suffer and die for us. Jesus knows more than we do, about hell; and He found it worthwhile to suffer and die like that, so we don't go there. I do not think your mother knows what Jesus knows. People of Satan are stubborn; only fire can fully manage them so they can not mess with others. And we see how religious and socially accepted moms and dads cursed their own children with the blood of Jesus > Matthew 27:25 < this shows how even supposedly respectable people of Satan's kingdom can become so horrible. Only with Jesus we can find out how to really love. Only Jesus can change us out of our selfishness-infected nature, so we live in God's peace with almighty power to keep us free from Satanic stuff messing us with unforgiveness and lusts and boredom and loneliness and frustration and other torment.
God's peace is almighty in His own immunity to howsoever this evil world would mess us. And part of our basic Christian calling it so submit to how our Heavenly Father personally rules each of us in this peace >
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
This is for every child of God > "in one body", our Apostle Paul does say, here, for all of us. So, people who know God's word will make sure you know this, right? If people really care about not suffering torment, let them tell you about how God's peace is almighty to keep you from suffering torment, plus this is our Creator's own peace sharing with us His own creativity for how to practically love each and every person . . . in God's all-loving love. This is basic; this is where your attention needs to be, then, right?
