Traditional Christians this is my view: Tell me what you think.

Sophist like to change language to change the meaning of things. If people used accurate language today to describe realities it would clear alot up. For example they are not illegal immigrants they are actually "illegal aliens", its not a pride flag its a "sodomy flag" because sodomy is what it celebrates, and its not abortion its baby murder/slaughter. Call it what it actually is and the mind wakes up to the realities of the truth on these issues. I am not going to sugar coat it but start calling things what they really are to wake minds up. The sophist have taken over in the past 60 years and have made us numb to these truths.

My thoughts...

1. We live in a depraved society. That’s never changed. The only difference is its no longer hidden.

2. Christians are distracted, obsessed with politics, and focused on fighting instead of their divine commission.

3. Keeping my mind and focus on my mission is a must. I ignore a lot.

4. I never understood the appeal of a private oasis until now. It’s becoming more desirable as time passes.

I am not going to sugar coat it but start calling things what they really are to wake minds up.

I would say this is fine. But I notice how a number of people call out what is wrong, but they say not a word about what is right, instead.

But in God's word I usually find along with a call-out how God also gives a strong encouragement to what is right, instead.

For one not so obvious example >

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)

This confronts how all people have sinned. But with this is our strong encouragement of how God does not want us to be short of His own glory. So, He does not want us to only stop our sinning, but He wants us to share with Him in His own glory, which is sharing so very personally with God Himself in us.

And Jesus guarantees this in the Lord's prayer in John chapter seventeen >

"'And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them and You in me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.'" (John 17:22-23)

So, we need to tell people how God does not want us to sin, plus we need to tell them how God desires for us to share with Him in His own glory and to be loved the way He loves His own Son Jesus.

Or else, we are not telling it like it is, if we only point out what is wrong.

Another example >

"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life" (in Philippians 2:13-16).

Here God strongly calls out complaining and arguing as being wrong > anti-love. So, there is this strong confrontation against complaining and arguing. And ones of us have experienced how cruel and abusive arguing is to parents and their children, and so degrading from how they could love. So, yes this needs to be brought out, since such a bad example can bring up children so they do not know how to love; and then they do not know how to love their unborn and can even kill them.

So, among other things, if you really are against abortion, then confront what can help to bring up children so they do not know how to love!!

But, in this scripture, Paul not only confronts arguing and complaining, but then gives such a strong encouragement to what is so better, instead > "that you may become blameless and harmless" and "without fault" right "in the midst of" this world's "evil and perverse generation" > not after we die, but right now.

And God commands this; so He knows it is realistic to expect His grace to do this in us.

So, if we do not include such strong and realistic encouragement, we are not telling it like it really is.

I loved your response and you’re right. Our spirit couldn’t tolerate a constant stream of negativity and rebuke. We must have balance. And when the Lord corrects, He’s gentle. It isn’t a slugfest.

I agree that if we are to see reality, we have to see what is there. I've got lots of people around me who are Pro-Choice and would be appalled to see the pics of baby parts but wouldn't want to change their minds about choice. I'm about as pro-human choice as anyone in that God made us to think for ourselves, to make our own choices, but when it comes to where my rights overstep the rights of another, I'm about as pro-life as it comes because whether the slaughter is at age 87 or at age -7, murder is murder. And it is amazingly sad to hear the way people talk. It is sad to see the confusion of the day and the sheer pile up of increasing darkness. All of it is so destabilizing it is sure to bring us to destruction without a change of heart and likely a change of national morality. We see the calamity course, while there is a great multitude that thinks we are on a freedom train toward peaceful co-existence. We have this pattern repeated again and again in the Bible and in history. Nobody appears to be listening.

But we can't forget that it's not that we have something others don't and are superior in some way. They can't hear us. It's only by the Word of God that we have light for our path. It's only when we are born again that we can see the Kingdom of God, what it looks like to live under God's rule in a stable situation. We can only discern our way through murky places with His guidance, His precepts, His law, His Word. Jesus fleshed those out, so it's fair to say we can only stay on the path with Jesus as He really is, not as we've created an image of Him to be. The screaming throngs haven't seen the light yet and might never see it if we don't share the love that first led us to Christ. We were told to go into the fields. Seems to be a good focus for us. Not to contend, but to harvest.

I think it was James - or was it Jude - who compared this to snatching out all we can and hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. I realize an outsider to this might find this post offensive, as though this is some haughty post that "we" see and are privileged to something that "they" aren't, poor them. But that lost sheep was definitely lost when the shepherd left the 99 to hunt up the one lost one. That one was me, and I remember being there. From this perspective, I want as many other lost sheep to have the same opportunity to see for themselves what it looks like to actually see this Kingdom.

But we can't forget that it's not that we have something others don't and are superior in some way. They can't hear us.

That’s because we’re quick to speak and unwilling to listen. I raised the issue in a missionary prep course. They went through the points and rebuttals and I quietly asked, how do you know where they are in the process? Are you certain your role isn’t to listen or offer support.

There were many surprised looks. God has a process. He needs to prepare the soil before its ready for planting. I don’t think you can effectively minister to anyone if your agenda or perspective is in the way. You need the Holy Spirit’s input.

Sometimes the best thing we can give to another is a kind word or a smile. Oftentimes we’re ramming the ‘truth’ down someone’s throat and get offended when they don’t respond. I wouldn’t either and didn’t when I experienced the same.

Discipleship must be undertaken willingly. Not by force. As for Jude, that relates to standing in the gap. There are some in bondage who can’t get free. We deflect Satan’s arrows with our prayers and God does the rest.

We can’t snatch anyone who wishes to remain as they are. Most who hear the gospel won’t pick up their cross and follow Him. Out of the 4 soils the Sower sowed only one bore fruit. That’s 25%.
