  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
That's why I prefer rock over opera.

I'm not a Christian, but I do like some of the music. This is a track on the Derek and the Dominos live album from 1973. (After Duane Allman's untimely death.) Eric Clapton did it originally with Blind Faith. This version is better. It's more spiritual than specifically Christian. But it's one of Clapton's best songs. With a great wah-wah guitar solo.

Patsy's 1959 recording of the classic New Orleans funeral march song is another of my favorites. The Jordanaires, Elvis's back-up singers, do the background vocals.

I'll also mention Bob Dylan's song, Precious Angel, on his Slow Train Coming album from 1979. It's a great song from his Christian period. The album version isn't on YouTube. There's some killer guitar work by Mark Knopfler. Definitely worth a listen.

What about Rock Opera? Invented by a Christian: Larry Norman.
Now that, I can get into.
Popera's good, too.
Opera, as in the straight up classical style, I just can't seem
to get excited about.

From 1991-2004 I was addicted to Methamphetamine.

Just saying.
Was that at about the time that you and your cult claimed responsibility for giving Ronald Reagan Alzheimer disease?
