What a great platform for Bernie and what a great message he delivered on several levels! Obviously there was the message of what his platform itself is, which is fantastic. But he also delivered other important messages.

For one, he delivered the message that Fox News and the people who watch it are not "deplorables" to be shunned but rather they are largely working people who can benefit from his platform and deserve to be spoken to like fellow human beings. He sent the message that they are not just "idiots" or any other derisive label to be dismissed as just such but that rather they are people also who should be spoken to and reasoned with. And for this he was actually criticized and hated by many on the Democratic/liberal side of the spectrum.

Another important message was not the platform itself but the fact that the platform resonates and is desired by a large number of people, a majority of people. Fox unwittingly helped him in this regard by setting him up for what they thought would be several "gotcha!" moments which actually backfired in their face! Nearly everything Bernie spoke about was met with huge cheering and applause from the vast majority of the crowd present. The few times it wasn't, it was typically because the hosts would talk over the cheering to try to subdue it.

The best moment was when one of the hosts asked the crowd who had private insurance and almost every hand went up, then he asked how many of them would be willing to give that up for Bernie's Medicare for all and the same hands went up! Fantastic and very telling endorsement of Bernie's plan and of the fact that he is reaching the majority of the people and resonating with them!

Future President Sanders will be a great leader for our nation and will benefit even those who are against him. I'm looking forward to watching him win the White House and taking the government back from the big-money special interests and giving it back to the people! With him in the White House and more like AOC and Ro Khanna taking over the Democratic Party and Congress we will surely see our lives improve greatly in the US... There's hope yet for the next generations!

I don't know what's more of a pipe dream, that the DNC will let him run or that the "socialism is bad" programming can be circumvented.

Agreed a sad statement that the best the Democrats have is someone who is not a Democrat.

I wouldn't mind a Bernie presidency. Interest rates would go through the roof, and I would prosper greatly. :D
Interest rates would not go through the roof, I don't know where you're pulling that from.

The insult came when the democrats didn't let him run in 2016. Pointing out that fact isn't insulting.

He was not being insulting. Reality is that he is not welcome in main stream Democrats and his socialism preaching is not embraced by the right.

These are two very real obstacles he needs to overcome.

The DNC harpooned him in 2016, what makes you think they will not do it again.

Well that might seem odd to those who think there's a difference between Democrats and Republicans but if you ever took a moment to follow the money you'd see they have the same sponsors. It's like arguing Chevy vs. Buick - it's all GM in the end. Yes, Bernie is certainly above all the fray and is the best that either party could hope to have - he just happens to align with the slightly better of the two.

I have to agree that Bernie is a skilled speaker and has a way of fooling the average voter (such as the audience at the Fox Town Hall which apparently thought that Medicare for everyone would be free free free.)

The big question is, however, how he could possibly get away with half-truths and illogical logic during a general election campaign. So far, he has faced only Democrats who were either on his side with most issues or else did not want to alienate his supporters by taking on Bernie. That was the case during the 2016 primaries.

Yes, he's being insulting to call those "pipe dreams". He ran as a Democrat last time, not a pipe dream. He's not welcome by the Democratic establishment but he has run and will again run as a Democrat - it's far from a "pipe dream".

The only ones who say he has very real obstacles to overcome are those who already hate him and want him to lose - it's rather transparent when people say such things.

No doubt they'll try to beat him in any way possible including cheating again but that comes with the territory and we'll fight it.

Completely disagree. Bernie would bankrupt us.

Not even by sight.

Really, the idea that Bernie will be voted in is ridiculous. Especially since the world is barreling headfirst into the next financial crisis. There won't be any money for supporting the poor, you'll need all the moolah you can get to bail out the banks and corporations.

I guess you missed the part where the DNC sabotaged him.

Interest rates would not go through the roof, I don't know where you're pulling that from.

Increased government borrowing would drain the credit markets, making it necessary to raise interest rates to attract capital for commercial and private lending.

Apparently you didn't watch the Town Hall because you wouldn't say the audience "apparently thought Medicare for everyone would be free free free". And that's because Bernie said flat out it wouldn't be "free" - he made it clear it would be paid for and he spoke about that.

It's fine if you want to disagree with and criticize Bernie but at least don't do so on the basis of complete falsity. That just makes you look bad.

As for the rest of your allegations of half-truths, etc. - it's obvious you have no specifics and based on your speculative misinformation earlier in the post it's pretty clear you just like to throw the labels at your enemies and then hope nobody notices that you have nothing to back it up. Of course, in the earlier part of your post you stated something that is demonstrably false because you didn't even watch the Town Hall or you would have known what you're saying is false.

No, I didn't miss that part - but that doesn't make his candidacy a "pipe dream". Do you know what a "pipe dream" is?

What has become the 'moderate' wing of the Democrat party under Pelosi and Schumer are waiting for the socialist and communist/revolutionary wing to collapse on their own. If they don't do it soon the leadership will certainly shorten their chain and bring them to heel. News at eleven.
