You should listen to wiser people. MO won’t run. Period. Ever.

That's what Hillary was saying about herself for a long time before she ran.

Didn’t you vote for Trump? That’s what he’s been doing.

Well, just as Trump is made to own his statement about this being "his" government shutdown, Obama can own his statement about fundamentally transforming the United States of America.

Of course, Trump was President when he made that statement whereas Obama was a candidate.

Be that as it may...

Glad you agree - Trump threatened to shut down the government and did. He owns it.

Here is what Obama promises to do to “fundamentally change” America in his campaign speech.
"In five days, you can turn the page on policies that put greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. In five days, you can choose policies that invest in our middle class, and create new jobs, and grow this economy, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, not just the CEO, but the secretary and janitor, not just the factory owner, but the men and women on the factory floor."
In context: What Obama said about

Seems like a good list of things to me. Much better than shutting down the government.

And what are the democrats doing to reopen it? Remember, the people are relying on them to "hold Trump in check". So how are they doing that? Accusations about being a Russian agent are amusing, but not effective. If that's the first thing they want to try, I can hardly wait to see what they're going to do for the next 2 years.

Not as many as I would have liked. But, that’s the nature of divides government.

Then if the border wall doesn't get built, should we blame the divided government we now have on the democrats?

To be divided one needs two parties. And the nature of your question suggests the wall not getting built is a bad thing. I think many Democrats would gladly take credit for stopping such a stupid waste of money.

That hardly answers the question. I asked you who the president was in 2013 when the government was shut down at that time.

If you don’t know who was president in 2013, there is not much else for us to discuss.

But what about Obama?

Nothing about Obama. He gets a free pass when he shut down the government. Focus all your attention on only what you can blame on Trump.

Do you think they'll also be willing to take credit for 800,000 people not being paid?

I understand you don't want to say it, so I'll say it for you. Obama was president and shut down the government in 2013, even though you claimed he didn't:

Who game Obama a free pass?

Trump said the President is always responsible for the shut down (unless Trump is president of course).

Please point out where I claimed that Obama didn’t shut down the government. That list was from the “fundamentally change” speech that you brought up and which was given at a campaign rally in 2008 - irrelevant to the 2013 shutdown.

Since Trump is the one who promised to shut down the government and Trump said the president is responsible for shutdowns, then I don’t think the Dems need to nor should they take responsibility. And, I am in the majority:
It’s Week 4 Of The Shutdown. Americans Still Think Trump Is To Blame.

No, no! Unless Obama is president when there's a shut down. Remember 2013? Most don't, and would rather not be reminded of the similarities.

United States federal government shutdown of 2013 - Wikipedia

From October 1 to October 17, 2013, the United States federal government entered a shutdown and curtailed most routine operations because neither legislation appropriating funds for fiscal year 2014 nor a continuing resolution for the interim authorization of appropriations for fiscal year 2014 was enacted in time. Regular government operations resumed October 17 after an interim appropriations bill was signed into law.

During the shutdown, approximately 800,000 federal employees were indefinitely furloughed, and another 1.3 million were required to report to work without known payment dates. Only those government services deemed "excepted" under the Antideficiency Act were continued; and only those employees deemed "excepted" continued to report to work.[2] The previous U.S. federal government shutdown was in 1995–96.[3][4] The 16-day-long shutdown of October 2013 was the third-longest government shutdown in U.S. history

Why would they be the ones to take credit for it when they aren't the ones holding our government hostage? I didn't think the U.S. was supposed to negotiate with terrorists.

I remember. I also remember Trump saying this:

And Trump and his followers now oppose this sentiment now that Trump is president.

Where in that list did Obama promise to shut down the government?

I pointed out a quote where Trump
promised to shut down the government.

You countered with a quote where Obama promised to fundamentally change America. I then provided the list of proposed changes.

The promises Obama made are much better than Trump promising to shut down the government.
