Wrong. I know your church "ordains" women as pastors. Which is not Scripturally grounded. It is not my intent to insult your church , but to speak the truth.

Except you are not speaking “truth”. Rather you are providing your opinion.

It was never a question about women in leadership roles , but primarily being a pastor. One can be in a leadership role and obviously not be a pastor.

Except the word pastor is rarely used in scripture. The modern office of pastor did not exist in Biblical times.

Many things in this thread like many others are not on topic , but you chose to not answer my question regarding if your church supports gay marriage. Do you not think I already know the answer?

Others may have raised things that are off topic in this thread—including yourself—I have not.

My point exactly. Those of us in episcopacies know one Bishop forbids something that the next does not. It would have been much different if Paul wrote, "Jesus said... "
It is the inspired Word of God.
Jesus is God.
Paul wrote the inspired Word of God.
Do you believe Jesus Christ is God?

I am not providing my opinion regarding the topic.
I presented the Word of God .
Pastors obviously existed in Biblical times.
Timothy was a pastor to whom Paul was writing to.

Do you believe Jesus Christ is God?

Oh yes. I just don't believe Paul is God.

No, you have provided opinion.

Pastors obviously existed in Biblical times.

I never said otherwise, I said that there is nothing like the modern office of pastor in Biblical times. Again, the term pastor is rarely used in scripture.

Timothy was a pastor to whom Paul was writing to.

There is an example of you offering nothing but opinion. Scripture never identifies Timothy as being a pastor. By church tradition he was a bishop.

Nor do I.
But, he did write the inspired Word of God, not his opinion.
That doesn’t mean that every word he wrote was inspired, particularly when he begins his writing with “I”.

That doesn’t mean that every word he wrote was inspired, particularly when he begins his writing with “I”.
With your logic what else might not be inspired?
What words ?
What writers of said words?

That isn't how it works.
It either is all inspired or not at all.
You and others cannot pick and choose what you believe to be inspired to fit your narrative.
Talk about opinions.

Bottom line the Word of God clearly teaches that women cannot be pastors .

You are not disagreeing with me , but rather the Word of God.
In my experience most of the people who think women can be pastors also think it is ok for a woman to marry another woman.
Maybe even a woman pastor marrying another woman.
SMH.
I personally will trust and abide by God's Holy Word, not liberal mans thinking or opinions.

Certainly not the words that Timothy was a pastor as you claimed because that isn’t in scripture.

That isn't how it works.
It either is all inspired or not at all.
You and others cannot pick and choose what you believe to be inspired to fit your narrative. Talk about opinions.

So do you believe that bats are birds? See, I bwlievvthat was written for a primitive people who didn’t understand the difference between the two.

Bottom line the Word of God clearly teaches that women cannot be pastors.

No it doesn’t. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but that is all you have provided is opinion.

You are not disagreeing with me , but rather the Word of God.

Why can’t you understand the concept of staying on topic. And for the record we have never had a same sex marriage in the church I attend.

I personally will trust and abide by God's Holy Word, not liberal mans thinking or opinions.

I will also trust and abide by God’s holy word, not your opinion.

Really there is no sense in continuing this discussion.

When I look at the direction of Churches that have accepted women priests it seems there is no limit on the ideas they will embrace next. Of particular guilt is the Episcopalian Church but there are also the liberal Lutheran Churches that seem to get wackier and more absurd year by year.

The Patriarchal nature of the Church's leadership is something that has not been challenged until relatively recently. Proponents aren't forming their opinion from a scriptural basis or a traditional basis but on ideas of complete and total equality between the sexes that have been foreign to the Church for the majority of it's existence.

I remain firmly against the idea.

I provided the Word of God.
It is you who has provided opinions.
And how can you say you trust and abide in God's Word while questioning if certain parts are inspired?
Guess what?
You can't.
So once again you are not disagreeing with me , but rather the Word of God.
And ,Timothy was obviously a pastor.
No need to split hairs friend.

Are they forced by a God they do not believe in?

Yes, God forces them to be saved.

That is exactly what I was inferring when I wrote:
"Yes, atheists can go to Heaven."
