I have a long text of what happened to tell you. What column is the best place for such topic? We had been together for more than two years when breaking up. I want to get her back, and I think I need someone that has deepest faith to God to let me know what God truly indicates me for achieving this goal. And I need God's almighty aid to convince her back very hard! What should I do?

You want God's help getting her back. My suggestion is first, stop... and ask Him does He even want you to have her back. I know that's hard... but we must live by His will, He is Lord. :)

But how do I judge if the thoughts or signals of whether I should manage to get her back is from God? What if it's from demons or other supernatural existences? What if the idea is simply out of my negativity?

That is a fair and mature question. Most people don't stop to think about the fact that God isn't the only "spirit" that can whisper in your ear. My own litmus test is that God will not contradict His written word and God will be consistent.

I will suggest considering this, but if you do, abide by the answer you get. And that is cast a lot. Now I know many have a sense that this is wrong, but we see it a number of times in Scripture, we even have God suggesting that He is in the lot. We also have various forms of it, like when Gideon put out a fleece... that is a form of a lot. You are seeking a supernatural answer. Now... some people might also suggest that it reveals a lack of faith to ask God to make His intent clear like this. But I would suggest that anyone making that suggesting confuses faith and belief. Faith comes by "hearing the word of God." We have to hear in order to have faith... so why would it be wrong to ask God to make His intent known so we can walk in it? I would suggest that if we asked God and got an answer and then stood firm on what His answer was, that that would be a perfect example of what real faith is.

God may have another plan for you. It may not be the best thing for you to get her back. Sometimes these things happen for a reason, even though I know it is painful.

I am divorced. After 25 years my wife experienced some sort of mental health or midlife crisis and ran off. She has since been cohabitating with a man who has a felony record and has been in prison.

I have often thought about what I would say if she wanted come back to me. I think the answer would be no, because given the brazenly sinful lifestyle she has chosen to lead, spending time with criminals, I actually think that having her in my life at this point would be very, very harmful to me.

I am not saying that your girlfriend is in any way involved in things like that, but we cannot see into the future. Just a few short years ago I never would have believed that my spouse would be capable of the things she has done.

You need to spend time in prayer asking God what He wants for your life. It may include this young lady, or it may not. If it does He will find a way to lead her back to you. But whatever his will is you must be prepared to accept it.

How did you lose her? Has she expressed a desire to get back together with you?
