Rabbits eat their own poop

"This process is known as coprophagy, and functions the same as cows chewing their cud."

Not only that but God's formula for pi is correct as well.

The goats enjoyed that article OldWiseGuy
but, they shared with me that although they do chew cud
unlike rabbits they do not eat their poo poo.
Thank goodness for MountainLady kisses them a lot.
Thank you for you are a wealth of information for us country folk.
Always needing to know who we should and who we should not be kissing.
M-Bob

PS -- I told MountainLady years ago to stop kissing dogs.
Dogs lick a lot of things that I don't want to get close to.

Reminds me of a joke.

A cowboy lifts up his horse's tail and gives it a big kiss right on the 'hinder'.

Passerby: "Why did you do that?"
Cowboy: "It's for my chapped lips"
Passerby: "How does that help chapped lips?"
Cowboy: "Keeps you from licking them."

Too much information.
My life would have been better if I had not bothered to click that link.

Maybe there should have been a disclaimer especially right before anybody eats their breakfast.

Most of us around here learn to proceed with caution before reading the old guys threads.

I'm also an old guy.

Haha unfortunately I already knew. Rabbits even produce different kinds of poop - but I'm guessing the article already said so.

Wonder if I might mention a license plate I saw the other day 7MYP zero zero 1, 7MYP001. Don't think I would have accepted that plate.

Where's the fallacy?
Fallacy of the Faulty Analogy:

This fallacy consists in assuming that because two things are alike in one or more respects, they are necessarily alike in some other respect.

Rabbits eat their own feces*, which is like chewing the cud**, therefore, the bible is right that rabbits chew the cud.

*What rabbits eat is feces in that it comes from their digestive tract. The feces they eat, however, is not plain old poop. They do not eat all of their feces, just that of a certain type.

**Cud is NOT feces, specially processed or otherwise. Cud is semi-digested material regurgitated from from the cow's (or other ruminants) adapted stomachs. It has not exited the cow's digestive tract through its anus; the cow does not eat its own feces.

Faulty analogy.

Rabbit 'cud' isn't feces. It is roughage that must be thoroughly chewed in order to be digested. It is gathered the way any prey ruminant species does, quickly for safety purposes then 'returned' to the mouth to be properly chewed, in a safe place. Also it must pass through the digestive system as the rabbit is unable to regurgitate this semi-digested food. The dictionary should be amended to include rabbit cud.

Cud doesn't.
It is roughage that must be thoroughly chewed in order to be digested.
Your link says nothing of roughage.

Do you consider the rabbit digestive tract - requiring the rabbit to eat its own feces (yes, your link does say that it is feces - "In short, they eat their own poop and digest it a second time.") an example of Design equal to the Design of the RLN in its perfection?
It is gathered the way any prey ruminant species does, quickly for safety purposes then 'returned' to the mouth to be properly chewed, in a safe place.

Well sure, except that ruminants do not eat their own poop, they regurgitate gunk from their stomach.

Let me guess - your knowledge of the digestive anatomy of mammals indicates to you that the cecum and the pharynx are the same thing?
Also it must pass through the digestive system as the rabbit is unable to regurgitate this semi-digested food.

Awesome design.
The dictionary should be amended to include rabbit cud.

Anything to help desperate religionists to prop up their ancient numerology stories.

Feces is 'waste'. Rabbit cud isn't waste.
Whatever it is called today it is the same thing as a 'cud' in ruminants, regardless of it's 'route'.

Species within the Lagomorpha (rabbits, hares, and pikas) produce two types of fecal pellets:
......
This process serves the same purpose within these animals as rumination (cud-chewing) does in cattle and sheep.[9]

Could we say that for God's purposes in describing clean and unclean animals to His people this description would be quite accurate? I think it would.
They chew/gamar, their food more than once but don't eat them like you can those with a split hoof.
