They are taught that it's true. Boy, you are hard to reach.

Education is not the same as brainwashing though. And especially when you consider the field of science where the whole point is to investigate the world and learn new things.

You can put me back on ignore permanantly.
Why the hostility? I liked your cartoon; I agreed with the bulk of your post and I asked for clarification on one of your views. Since I have no recollection of why I put you on Ignore this seemed a good opportunity to initiate/resume a productive dialogue. If you disagree then feel free to place me on Ignore, but I shall follow your posts with interest for a while. In the meantime I hope you will choose to respond.

Didn't we supposedly come out of the ocean?

If we came from the jungle, why is it we didn't come from the sea?
We share a common ancestry with fish and monkeys, but we are not currently monkeys or fish, (though we are still vertibrates and primates), however we are currently apes.

As I'm sure you have been told countless times, the physical evidence is the DNA of both humans and the other great apes.
Indeed. The real issue here is the shameless, systemic lying that the creationists are forced to use since the scientific evidence is devastating to the creationist view.

The obedient Christian is called to seek truth, not to bear false witness ro support a naive Literalist interpretation of Genesis.

Did you pick the banana video as a joke? Or are you not aware that it's something of a laughing matter amongst those who believe in evolution?

I am aware its a joke. I thought it would help illustrate how creationism can be the butt of ridicule. :D

The banana video shows us that God gifted us those who created a banana hybrid for human consumption.

Just like He could have gifted us Charles Darwin to find the cure for cancer, had Darwin not gone astray.

The banana vid shows us creationism is wrong.

Comfort - 'goddidit'
Reality- 'nope, man didit'

And it looks like your cancer cure has been put on hold, for now. Waiting on a server upgrade. ;)

Either that, or it doesn't.

Yup … isn't that what I said?

Perhaps the "server upgrade" was aborted, à la your "new and improved" science?

If you said god didn't create the banana, then yes.
How long have I been saying this now?*

Here's a post from four years ago:
My response to that video is that God, in His grace, gives us men and women who are specially tuned in to His creation.

Much like Mozart was a natural with the piano, God-gifted scientists are naturals with God's creation.

Thus God gave us botanists who were able to take a fruit that was meant for animals and create a hybrid that is palatable and fit for human consumption.

God created the banana, but not of the variety that is in the video.

* [Note: Technically He did, as we are to give God the preeminence in things such as this. I'm giving the credit to those who did create the hybrid, but just for the sake of clarity.]

All land vertebrates are descended from lobefin lungfishes. That took about 500 million years . Once land vertebrates were established they split up into different lineages. One of those lineages are Primates. Humans evolved out of the Primate lineage and , yes we ARE a type of ape. Apes have a distinct shoulder girdle, rib cage, wrist and arm structure that allows us to tree swing and non human apes share this with humans . Apes and humans DO NOT share this with monkeys even though apes descended from the old world monkeys . Humans can treeswing but we have trouble with it because our long legs throw us off balance.

So god didn't create the banana to fit perfectly into the human hand?

Could we please get off the apes?

I'm trying to make a point.

Go back farther.

Where did the apes come from?

And back farther.

Eventually you'll have life emerging from the sea … correct?

If my daddy was an ape, and his daddy was a primate, and his daddy was a lungfish, and his daddy was a gill fish, then doesn't logic dictate that I came from a fish?

If my daddy was an ape,

Then you'd be an ape.

and his daddy was a primate,
His daddy would be an ape, too.

and his daddy was a lungfish,
Nope, his daddy would be an ape also.

(remember, croccoducks do not exist in reality)

and his daddy was a gill fish,

Wrong again, his daddy would also be an ape.

(you're starting to see a pattern, aren't you?)

then doesn't logic dictate that I came from a fish?

This is known as creologic, and it's demonstrably wrong.
