People - and the media - do this all the time. There are videos out there that quote Trump's policies, and tell people that they are Obama's. Then ask if they agree with it. They said, "Of course!"

They do it the other way around as well.

I find it is a lesson to everyone. People need to stop being so robotic about how anything on MY side is good, or THEIR side is bad. Also, if people slowed down long enough and stop automatically taking sides? They might find there are issues and statements that the 'evil' side has that you might actually agree with.

It does show the highly partisan divide within the country that seems to be encouraged, and dumb blindness that goes along with that. lol although since we are so blind to this? People would start bickering about who is more blind - our side or their side - instead of owning the obvious.

Very true. there are a lot of videos on YouTube of people agreeing with what they thought was something Bernie, Hillary, or Obama said only to find out it was Trump. The only thing this illustrates is that people need to start thinking for themselves and stop being partisan lemmings.

This young man's deception was but for a moment to allow a reaction and for what I believe was a valuable lesson. I think it is important enough that it matters to the survival of our republic under a democratic system of government.

You are the one raising concern over deception. If you feel like backing down from the complaint, by all means. Otherwise, if you have issues with certain kinds of deception, then simply state that, this situation obviously has you feeling some type of way.
