And here I've been thinking that is was for us to be Loving, Compassionate and in Service to those in need.
The problem is that the Gospel of Matthew says one thing and John's Gospel says something entirely different.

The book of Enoch is a book of prophecy that was accepted by all Christians. It was the Catholics who decided to exclude it.

Again: The first group of Christians were killed off by the second group, who then proclaimed to be the protestant Christians.
I don't accept the book of Enoch because it claims fallen angels mated with flesh and blood daughters of men then produced offspring originally 4,500 ft tall then cut back to 450 ft tall and I don't believe it ..

There are some very weird things in Enoch, no doubt about it. But what do you do about the fact Jude quotes it? And it is difficult to imagine there would have been a Book of Revelation had not Enoch proceeded it.

I would say it probably had some truth and Jude was qualified to know and distinguish but not me or any other jabroni .. The Talmud too for that matter .. I am confident God delivered the Bible I need in the KJV, 66 books .. You ?

It's mine like an old and most trusted friend
Got it! I have an old Rodwell translation of the Qur'an that I feel that way about. It is dated and perhaps not the best translation, but it was the first Qur'an I read and know where to find everything i need in it.

It's my understanding that back in the day, for certain trajectories of the Jewish people, the Book of Enoch was very important and carried a lot of weight for those people. And the importance of Enoch for those Jews was carried forward with the early followers of Jesus.

Can you quote it and anoint with oil lay hands on the sick and see them recover ? How about interpret a message given in tongues at church or confirm the translation given by another or other signs that follow true believers ? Not saying all will have all the gifts but we see them and benefit ..

Most of the Jews would be expected to give credence to the book of Enoch but most of them also said John 19:15

Revelation has plenty antecedent in, say, Daniel and Ezekiel. But Enoch/no Enoch there was a rich history of apocalyptic literature present that gives the Revelation an established literary context. Enoch's not the only text to present the motif of a seer being escorted by a heavenly figure and shown wondrous things.

That much is true. Nearly everything Christians believe about Satan ultimately comes from the Book of Enoch. In the Tanakh (Old Testament) Satan is merely God's prosecuting attorney.

Isn't the Book of Enoch older than Daniel?

The book of Enoch is a inspired work, however, Gnostic's have tampered with it. Enoch was written by an unknown prophet. Enoch is used as part of the parables. In other words, Enoch is not Enoch. If the parts in Enoch do not agree with Orthodox Judaism, then most likely it is a Gnostic insertion.

Sounds like what you are really saying is that Enoch is inspired when you agree with it and when you don't it's Gnostic.
