I really hate to post another post prayer request like this right after the other one, I was actually planning on not being here at all for most of today except for perhaps the evening. However for some reason, I’m struggling with anger towards Protestant trolls and other unpleasant people, I need prayers that I can be calm and not think about this.

Anyways, I’ll be at college for most of today and won’t be back until evening.

I think might have sinned mortally, I don’t know, it’s hard to tell since I don’t know when anger becomes mortally sinful.

Please pray for me that my conscience becomes enlightened in regards to this, and also that confession is available to me tomorrow, as I may need to go there, even if I haven’t sinned mortally.

I think if you're battling against unwanted / intrusive thoughts, how responsible you are for what's going on in your head comes into play. I can't give you any help here, but honestly, if you're contrite and want to do better, that's a good step.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on your servant, JesusLovesOurLady.

JLOL, I, too, struggle with anger towards Protestants. I would say it's towards Protestantism rather than the Protestants themselves, but that line can become so blurred for me, at times.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

I appreciate your contrite heart and your concern for your soul. However, I say this with love, you need to ease up on yourself. Being angry is normal. you recognized it is bad and you are working to fix it. I don't think that anger itself is a mortal sin. Your emotions cannot always be 100% controlled and thus cannot be considered mortally sinful. Now if you murdered someone you might want to get to confession as soon as possible. However, if you got angry with someone and maybe said something you regret I would recommend doing a general examination and say an act of contrition. We need to trust in the love and compassion of Christ. That means excusing our human tendencies to get emotional.

Thank you, but it’s more complicated than that, I’m having some really bad thoughts right now.

I’m struggling with really angry thoughts right now. Please pray for me, I’ve prayed all four mysteries of the rosary, with three them pointed towards helping me with this, and while it helped a bit, I’m still angry, and every now and then I get with really bad thoughts.

Do you see a doctor for OCD? Because this is more than religious OCD.

I’m starting to calm down now a bit, but I’m still shaken up.
You can't let OCD thoughts consume you. Cut them off at the start, as you would the head of a snake coming under the door.

I’m praying the Divine Mercy hour now, I committed a mortal sin last night and had to confession, (though again, I planned on going anyways) I have been recovering since then.

I just got struck with a grudging, judgemental, uncharitable thought, and now I’m worried that it might have been mortally sinful. I don’t want to have committed another mortal sin, especially after having gone to confession and having had a time recovering from all of this, but I’m not sure about this.

Please pray for me, I’m really frustrated.

As a (very weak) Protestant, I pray that Jesus calm your soul down in regards to those who use their misunderstanding of Catholicism against everyone of you, and that you can look up to Him and know everything will be okay. God be with you, Brother.

(I am reading some material by Pope Francis currently.)

If you don't know then you probably didn't. Part of committing a mortal sin is knowing what you are doing IS a mortal sin.
I’ve gotten over my scrupulosity, but I’m still struggling with anger, I was doing okay this morning, but I just got this thought stuck in my head and I just became angry about this all over again.

I’m calming down, but I’m having a really hard time getting my mind off of this.

I’m calming down, but I’m having a really hard time getting my mind off of this.

I can understand anger. I understand it very well. I have a very aggressive general anxiety disorder borderline bi polar. TRUST me when I say I get it. You need to speak with a therapist. Preferably a Catholic one. You need to follow any medications you are supposed to take to the T. You need to discuss and speak with a confessor who can act as a spiritual director. You need him to give you a reasonable and doable rule of prayer. You then need to TRUST in Jesus. Read St. Faustina's journal. Look at the torment she underwent. If she persevered so can you.

One last note. Ease up on yourself man. Read the scriptures. Christ was gentle and loving. He was merciful and compassionate. Remember that. Hold it in your heart. Tell Jesus all day long "I trust in you." Let things go brother. Take it from someone who is probably a bit older then you. Life will run you over if you don't take it easy on yourself from time to time. We are all sinful pilgrims walking the same dusty road. I under piety. Trust me I do. I set a rule of prayer for myself that is often a little to much. I leave little time for myself to relax. I often get lost in my routine and my expectations. I often have to slow down and remind myself that I don't have to wear myself with all this religious stuff. Take time to smell the roses and enjoy the world around you. Play a video game. Watch a show on netflix. Go for a walk and play Pokemon Go. Allow yourself to exit the confines of your religiousness just for a bit in order to enjoy the awesome world that God has put before you. Allow yourself a breather from the evangelizing and hard line examinations of conscience. Sometimes people like us with OCD or anxiety we forget to just stop....listen....and appreciate.

I once had a confessor tell me that I was sinning by being so hard on myself I never had the opportunity to just enjoy life. Since then I have always had a picture of Jesus on my cubical at work laughing. It is a constant reminder that I am not here to beat myself up mentally every day. I am here to glorify God and enjoy the amazing world around me.

I pray for you always. Today I pray that you will stop....enjoy....and appreciate the amazing world around you.
