Perhaps, it is uncertain if they hear our prayers or not. The Bible doesn’t specify.
You said yourself Mary is not a God and all Christian churches agree with that. So that commandment is completely irrelevant.

I only pray to God also. But I see no point in condemning others who also honor and love God because they pray to Mary and the Saints. I seek unity with my brothers & sisters in Christ. Not division.
