• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's your personality type?

What is absolutely right, though, is that the J trait is very strong. That's consistent on every Myers-Briggs type test I've ever done.
Yup, me too. I'm VERY J. I can organize anything, and I really like to know what's going on, have it decided and settled. I'm also one of those people, when I talk or listen, I want to know the point first, and filling in the details is optional. I have such trouble following the conversation of P types sometimes. When they finally get to their point, I often miss it as my brain is trying to sort out the 207 other things they said first.

Also, as we get older and mature, we tend to get more even on the scores, so no biggie that you came out as ISTJ. Additionally, you might have to use ISTJ skills in your job(s), so if you are in job mode when you took the test, it could affect your score.

I love you, too! lol

Like, getting immediately to heart of the matter, or at least trying to do so...

Then take a lunch break and don't work. Remember us poor antipodeans suffering through winter up here and enjoy your summer!

This isn't work. This is what I'm doing in between preparing dinner for my Bible study group (lime-glazed ribs now in the slow cooker) and actually preparing the material (we're doing a series on justice in Isaiah).

So this is me, kicking back, peach and mango smoothie in hand (summer fruits for the win!), indulging in my preferred "hobby" of contributing to CF. Introvert indeed!

So when do you fit in the mandatory time to read? You must not ever sleep!

I read less than I would like. But somehow library books still seem to come and go on high rotation.

Actually what happens is that with work-related reading I often don't read whole books. I read chapters, or dip in and out of things, but the time to read stuff that's not relevant to whatever I'm working on is a scarcer luxury. I try to carve out a bit of time for it, but... it depends what else is happening that week!

It means you are an extremely gifted outlier among outliers. INFJs only appear in about 1-2% of the population. Lemme look up a good descriptive link and I'll post it.
Kind of exceptional, then!

Haha, I have a family member who is an ENFP, she tries to tailor her stories (marathon conversations) to fit my style, and I try to embellish my 5 word sentence to make it interesting for her. But it took us many years to realize how to best communicate to each other!

A bit like a kaleidoscope with the pieces interacting uniquely in relation with each other, I guess.

16personalities.com is a 10 minute test that is quite accurate in determining your personality type. It is useful in understanding why people behave the way that they do. For Christians working together in a group setting, it is an aid for determing other people's suitability for particular tasks. It also can cause you to be more forgiving towards others who behave in ways that you previously could not understand. They are simply processing information and responding in ways that are consistent with their personality type. This does not excuse sinful behaviour though, which is another matter. So, what is your personality type and did you find it an accurate description of yourself?

Mine is INFP (Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving) and it's pretty accurate

I myself am a real devourer of books, I guess one could say! (But best of all, The Book! :) )

Gah, I wasn't insulting. Different types DO have different communication styles. Some people think I'm dry and too direct. They're wrong. Muahahaha.

LOL! It's hilarious that you think you weren't.

And by the way, my communication style is quite direct when one is insulting.

Gotta take those li'l fun "tests" with a grain o' salt, eh?

Muahahaha.

INFP, but being well into middle age, I'm presumably developing the weaker sides of my temperament by now also. :)
