Would love an email!Hey Contra, this is so strange....last night I was going through some old PMs here and found one from you. I was going to email you today to see how you were....and now here you are!
Very long time no see!! How are you? Often wondered since my return, what happened to you
(BTW the new name is because I couldn't remember my password to come back as just Heber)
Hi there Contra. You probably don't remember me, it has been a couple of years since I have been on these forums. But....I used to really enjoy your posts. Nice to see you here.Would love an email!
Well, to answer you and CherubRam, I've just been remarkably busy and working myself to near exhaustion this year. It's tough to juggle religious life and secular work, but that is the path I have chosen. I have a lot of extra responsibility these days, and finding time to be on the internet for discussions and so forth is more or less priority number 999 on a list of 1000. Although I do in fact miss all the cool stuff I picked up here (this site is a great resource for research when interesting, kosher links are provided) as well as some of the nice people who post here.
In 2018 I will be writing a full book, which I have begun to outline. This year I edited a few books and translated some religious stuff as well, and that kept me busy.
How about you folks? Have I missed anything groundbreaking?
Hi Contra, can so relate. Only recently returned since changing employers a couple of months ago. Prior to that I had a spell out of teaching which was positively AWESOME! But the project and thus contract ended earlier this year and I've had to return to substitute teaching. I really have no excuse now and should really press on with writing my children's book.Well, to answer you and CherubRam, I've just been remarkably busy and working myself to near exhaustion this year. Thanks for the info. It is good to hear from you and to know you are ok, if busy. I recall you had been unwell for a time and thought that might be the problem, or you had been banned.![]()
There is not a lot I can say, on here, but I have had a terrible 4 years which culminated in me losing my position and my home, after 25 years of service. A cryptic clue: beware of the 3 'f's in our vocation: female, fat and forty, especially if they are outright liars and anti-semitic! Legal action against persons and / or denomination are not out of the question, at the moment, for slander and libel.
I am now back to my original abode on a little island in the UK., and currently have no formal denominational links. I am hoping to write a book at some point, but as I only moved back here a few months ago I am still settling in.

Not sure if you remember me also, but loved how educational your posts were![]()
I have noticed that a lot of people who posted here seem to be missing. Perhaps they moved to another forum.Well, to answer you and CherubRam, I've just been remarkably busy and working myself to near exhaustion this year. I know there were attempts to create new forums- but I can't remember them or anything. For a while it was tough to post here, but everything has a season.
Hey Contra, are you following the terrible rise of anti-Semitism in Europe, especially Sweden, France, etc? What do you think? We're all heading back underground, as it was in the beginning. Keep kosher and hold fast!

There was a new forum, that is still running as far as I know. The guy who runs it (used to run it?) appears on here from time to time: Mishkan. I am in FB contact with a couple of guys from the past who rarely post on here now.
Some poachers became gamekeepers - if you get my drift!
Life on here is a lot easier, now![]()
Interesting. I think I visited the Mishkan site a couple of times, but frankly, the whole thing is not really my kind of thing. It's not bad either, it's just....I don't know, let's just say that I prefer to do other things with my spare time these days.
