We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

Do you think that is metaphorically speaking or do you think the Nephilim were actually that tall, meaning probably hundreds of feet tall if you compare yourself to a grasshopper... I was glancing through a few crazy documentaries on youtube today, and one of them was saying the mount called the Devil's tower actually is the remnance of a Nephilim's foot ??? I was like ok, that person must be on crack or something, then that verse came up. Hmm... What do you think, were the Nephilim as tall as they make them to be?

I don't think it can be taken that way, grasshoppers can fly and jump long distances.
Goliath was over 9 feet tall I think it was more like that.

I believe Goliath was after the Nephilim were destroyed by the flood, there were giants in his time, but human and no taller than 10 feet. I think...

I believe "giants" in those days referred to people taller than 7 feet (maybe as tall as 9). The Israelites for the most part were only around 5'5 so that a small Israelite like David (a young teen) next to someone say even 8 feet with boots and a helmet would seem giant-ish (imagine Ben Stein next to Shaq)...the Hebrew writers tend to almost hyperbolize in many instances. It appears to me they did this to create contrast in the hearers through which sometimes a greater truth was often perceived (even if the contrast is not given).

For example when Paul says "There is none righteous no not one." He says this knowing full well there are those God calls righteous, James is called James the Righteous, Mary and Joseph are called righteous, Abraham was called righteous and so on. Now they were all righteous in God through faith but even some that lived in the old Covenant are referred to as righteous. God speaks in Ezekiel of when the righteous does that which is unrighteous and vice versa. Surely God is not wrong and Paul correct so this is not meant by Paul to be taken in a wooden literal sense of those words. So it is with "giants"...a culture of very tall humans like Watusi when viewed from the perspective of Pigmies would be similar.

I know the Book of Enoch shouldn't be considered as Biblical canon but some of it says this:

In any case, the 7th chapter of the Book of Enoch specifically references the height of the giants. The translation I have says, “And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind.”[3] An ancient ell is roughly a cubit or 18 inches. Therefore, the text actually says that these giants were 4,500 feet tall. Many supporters of the extreme figures argue this is a textual error and the verse should read 300 ells, or 450 feet.

Just to put this in perspective, the Statue of Liberty is 151 feet tall. Even if you include the base, she is only 305 feet tall. To give you an idea of the size we are talking about, if the faces on Mount Rushmore had bodies, they would be 465 feet tall.

Compared with these numbers, the 20 and 30 foot references coming from ancient mythological literature do not seem quite as incredible. The bottom line, however, is that none of these extreme figures, including 20 and 30 feet, come from the Bible. The giants whose heights are recorded in the Bible are between 7 and 10 feet tall and one had a bed that was a little over 13 feet long.

Average height of Jewish men in David's time is said to be about 5 feet tall. Nephilim/Giants were about 6'6", which would certainly be inimidating, it would be like David Spade fighting Shaq.

The traditional (Masoretic) Hebrew text has Goliath at 6 cubits and a span (1 Samuel 17:4), roughly 9'9". The Dead Sea Scroll reading disagrees and has Goliath at 4 cubits and a span, or 6'6". The smaller size is also the reading of the Septuagint. Generally the Dead Sea Scroll readings for Samuel are regarded as superior to the Masoretic text when the two disagree, but especially when the scrolls also coincide with the Septuagint (Michael Heiser- The Unseen Realm).

This is the weirdest documentary I've stumbled accross. The man sounds so professional and experienced explaining what he has discovered but at the same time not very credible. Either the man is dillusioned and not all there or is onto something. He claims that the devil's tower amongst other similar mounds are the remnance of Nephilim's feet. See for yourselves, very strange....

I wouldn't buy his book........
I wouldn't either, I had no idea he had followers who believed in what he preached. The no-toed being part seemed far fetched, seems like he sees giant's feet in everything now. And the gold produced from giant's blood vessels??? I'm telling you I was dumb founded when I saw this video. It's intriguing and at the same time not very believable but it does make you wonder.

While the Bible does speak of 9-10' tall beings, right?....it wouldn't surprise me if the giants were really really tall... as they are bred by fallen angels maybe??? ... and we know the first thing God's angel said when speaking to good guys in the Bible was "BE NOT AFRAID" ... now a 10 footer might make me wonder but a 30 footer would scare me lol

In Genesis they refer to them as heroes and men of renown. I just don't think they could communicate with humans if they were that big. Also I doubt that such creatures as a Nephilim would be able to have intercourse with women if their sex organs were in any way proportionate.
