Galatians 5:13-18

Anxiety, by Biblical Definition
- A lack of trust in God
- A desire to control outcomes/results ourselves

God will guard out heart and mind
- Heart: passions, desire, affections, purposes, endeavours
- Mind: thoughts

I would also like to add something I haven't really thought of before and would like to share with all of you. On my way to the store to get groceries, I was listening to the Book of Mysteries and heard an interesting thing about this and regarding sin.

Just as we are to go to God with our worries/anxieties/cares - even the sin we stumble into do we give to Him. Why? When I think about it, Jesus died for us by defeating sin and death (because the wages of sin is death). Why then would we keep that sin we stumbled into? We should give that to God in exchange for life and His peace. God is not just the cornerstone, but the capstone as well in this regard. He beat death! Thus, He is the capstone from the resurrection. He is much stronger than us and we should go to Him for His strength.

I hope this made sense. Thanks for reading! :yellowheart:

This is a wonderful reminder-I know it isn't always easy not to worry, but God understands all our worries and hears our prayers. He can give us strength and peace!
Thank you for sharing. :purpleheart:
Galatians 5.22 is a great reference point for the fruit of the Spirit! :) We don't earn merit with God; it's all via the work of the Spirit, by grace. :)

To worry and fret is a SIN! Why? No trust of God!

Matthew 6:25-34

Psalm 37:8
Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.

Proverbs 24:19
Do not fret because of evildoers Or be envious of the wicked;

Yes, though, Jesus was anxious for good things to happen.

And sin can be as complex as we are. Technically, it means missing the mark. It can be hard to understand how we can miss the mark and still be right. Just as it can be hard to judge, and have the same standard applied to us. Whether we use a standard of instruction and mercy... or something else.

Finally, I would note, I usually think a lot with my heart, as I hear my own voice and the voice of the Spirit and angels (and probably other Christians) in my heart, not in my mind.

Our breath moves with our heart.

Anxiety is dwelling on a fear of the future while depression is dwelling on the misfortunes of the past.

Luckily, the past is over. It cannot be changed, but it need not affect us today because it is over and done with. The future is unknown to us, but the basic human fear for the future is death.

The only ones who should fear death are those who love the world and the riches it offers, because they know the moment they die, it will all vanish.
But we who love God are not attached to the things of the world. We do not need them for happiness or contentment. We know that at death, we will not lose anything, but gain everything, so there is no fear of death and no anxiety. We know the Father watches us and cares for us. We know that any misfortune that befalls us is a test like when Job was tested, and we march on knowing that we shall prevail because we have the Love of the Father guiding us.

Wow!
