  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

...and what's the purpose of posting this little tidbit of "news"?

These types of circumstances are always news. Big Powerful person taking advantage of others, and then you find that many knew about it all along. Then of course didn't say anything, because what they were getting from the person might be cut off.

His board members? Their reputations are on the line now too. I mean the guy had settled at least 8 lawsuits about his sick dynamic, and they claimed they didn't know? (eye rolls) Yes, they did. lol its the board member's job to know! They - like many others - just liked the cash cow, and wanted it to continue.

This type of sick human drama is always news.

I didn't say it wasn't anything new, or it was limited to secular.

I said the dynamic involved is always news.

The lawsuits may not mean anything. That can be 'go away' money out of the small change fund for deep pockets types. They are normally the function of the lawyers on behalf of the client. Sex harassment is known for that kind of thing. Namely payouts. So there is an incentive to file because there may be a big payout at the end of it all. Study the O'Reilly and Fox news thing.

Mary Katharine Ham

But I worked with Bill for almost ten years, weekly. And nothing bordering on sexually inappropriate with him. Look, our relationship was frustrating. He was often paternalistic. Sometimes it was a fine relationship. But you can see I mostly worked it out on camera by yelling at him, maybe once every month or six weeks. The other ladies did some of that as well. And so that was sort of the extent of it.

But I do think one of the problems with doing business the way that it was done is even though I didn’t experience it and frankly didn’t see it, and I assure I would not have been quiet had I, is that every woman who walks through those doors has questions hanging over her head and odd interactions she has to have about this and people wondering about you. And none of us deserve it. Victimized or not, none of us deserve that part of it, either.
Mary Katharine Ham on Bill O'Reilly: 'Our Relationship Was Frustrating - He Was Often Paternalistic' - Breitbart
----------------------------------
So nobody bothered to ask Ham if she thought the alligations were credible based on her ten years experience. She probably would have punked out anyway. She worked with the so-called serial harasser for ten years and had no clue? It sounds like she was no friend to O'Reilly. Nor did she demonstrate loyalty after ten years. O'Reilly was kicked to the curb and she wastes her airtime whining about the general problems of women. While her ten-year work associate is left hanging. Talk about a cold-blooded you know what.

So they have not reasonably proved harassment in the O'Reilly case. They apparently had other motives. They threw O'Reilly to the curb for the possibility of money.

The actions themselves aren't a surprise, but the fact that a lot of the media and "woke" types like Ashley Judd knew about it and kept silent is interesting.

I know! Why would anyone that is sexually harassed or assaulted not speak up? It's not like people would retaliate you or anything.

Why We Fail to Report Sexual Harassment
Last month, Fox News agreed to pay Gretchen Carlson $20 million to settle her sexual harassment lawsuit against Roger Ailes, the network’s former Chairman and CEO, who resigned in the summer. In light of increasing evidence against Ailes, colleagues and high-profile figures who had previously doubted Carlson began apologizing for not supporting her. For example, Geraldo Rivera said in a Facebook post, “Like victims of sexual assault, those alleging harassment deserve the presumption of credibility.”

The Ailes case commanded a lot of media attention, but it was not all that unique. Even though the Bureau of Labor Statistics finds that 70% of employers provide sexual harassment training and 98% of companies have sexual harassment policies, the number of sexual harassment claims filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is significant — there were 6,822 claims of sexual harassment in 2015. And we continue to hear stories about sexual harassment in academia, medicine, science, and engineering driving women out of STEM.

There's also the problem of nondisclosure agreements, which is why Wendy Walsh was one of the few visible faces that spoke up about sexual harassment with Bill O'Reilly. Perhaps the laws need to be changed, but it's easy to see why people don't or can't speak up when powerful people are doing such horrible things.

I remember calling someone a conspiracy theorist for mentioning something like this a decade ago...

I was a very ignorant person then. Hopefully not so much now. And, of course no this doesn't surprise me, but what does surprise me is that Hollywood would choose to let such a "darling" face this type of scrutiny and mess.

He must have thoroughly upset someone, and they compiled the recorded data for presentation (like they have, and will do for anyone who "messes up.")

I think we often forget all the mechanisms a wealthy person has at their disposal to crush anyone that would dare pass them. How many people vehemently defended Bill Cosby? How many people called accusers of O'Reilly and Ailes liars and part of a conspiracy against conservatives? One reason they are able to do this is that they hire people (besides lawyers) who will go after you in every way possible to discredit you. How many times have you heard a female accuser called ugly? That's one of the reasons people don't speak up. And the thing is, it's not just people in media and film:

JFK Airport guard forced to watch colleagues have sex: suit
A former security guard at Kennedy Airport was forced to watch her coworkers have sex and subjected to constant sexual harassment because she rejected her boss’s advances, a new lawsuit alleges.

LaDonna Powell, 32, worked for the company now known as Allied Universal Security Services at JFK from 2012 to 2016.

Serial abusers who get away with it for a long time, because they are in a position to use use fear with their victims and shut some up with confidential settlement payoffs.

Long track record of this folks and it follows the same pattern. Why concerns me, are the other people in power, who knew enough about this and they kept silent. I have the feeling, some folks are going to be exposed in that regard.

Ashley Judd kept the abuse to herself (or at least didn't make a huge stink about it), but she should've said something.

Kap says something, but instead is told he should just shut up and play football.

What's a rich celebrity to do?

These women weren't exactly rich celebrities when they were victims. Our culture is hardly sympathetic to victims who seemingly "allowed themselves to be in a vulnerable position". Confronting the issue is not something that victims are often willing to do because they often feel humiliated and that they will be judged harsher that the perpetrator. As time goes by it is easier to leave it in the past.

The purpose of people who care posting this news is to try and wake the rest of you up.

Good to see stars like Robert Downey Jr, Elijah Wood, Gwyneth Paltrow and many others starting to blow the whistle!

We're not just talking Hollywood moguls demanding beautiful young women submit to them on the casting couch if they want to "be a star". Though that is reprehensible enough.

No - it is about systematic pedophilia, Satanism, sacrifice, human and organ trafficking - and political power. Nah... Certainly not... Don't be a conspiracy theorist... Such nonsense... Such evil in the heart of the American elite establishment... never! They are for peace, democracy, freedom...

Well listen to these brave Hollywood stars:
Robert Downey Jr. Blows the Whistle on Elite Hollywood Pedophile Ring

Jodie Foster Blows the Whistle on Elite Hollywood Pedophile!!

And see what the star of "Ironman" (a revelatory movie about deep state malfeasance) has to say about the Las Vegas massacre:
Robert Downey Jr.: Las Vegas Shooting Was an 'Illuminati Blood Sacrifice'
