I am waiting for the results of a biopsy. I have no one to share my fears with outside of God. I am not afraid of death but my kids still need me here. I have no idea of what I would tell them if it turns out I have cancer too.

The best thing to tell your children is to be very careful not to judge God for His actions. They must have faith that Jesus has overcome the world, and thus has overcome any pain they may endure. You cannot make promises that everything will be easy, or that they are not about to enter into some tribulation. You must tell them that in any circumstance, the just Hand of God is at work and that ALL THINGS work towards good for those that love God. I love you

I personally think I'd be better off to tell them I loved them and reassure them that no matter what happens here, as long as they trust God, we will be together again. I don't think putting the blame on God would be a good idea. God didn't give their dad cancer nor would He give it to me. Those are simply problems of being human. (test results this time are benign...but surgery is still needed)

my comment was in response to the advice to tell them not to judge God...

The perceived "blaming" God would if my children would perceive losing two parents to cancer as evidence that God was punishing them for something with all this tragedy. My son would never do this. My daughter's faith isn't quite as strong. It took a lot to get her through her father's death.

My faith is strong enough.

dont mean to offend. I will pray for you and your family

I am sorry...I am just touchy. I wasn't really asking what to say but just overwhelmed with the idea that I might have to sit them down and have a conversation that started with "I have cancer". This conversation has been diverted at this time. They are very good with me and my extreme fatigue & pain now and knowing I need surgery but I can also tell them that it should be a temporary situation.

Take this from a widower who is growing very ill.

I will pray for you. You have obviously been through a lot of your own tragedy and at a very young age.

When I post on the widow/er forum, I am at my weakest emotionally and it shows. I am sorry for being ... well, being so overly sensitive.

Also, if you pray for me, only pray that I will grow in my relationship with Christ, and be better at providing exhortation to His people. And that my quick tongue should be softened if not removed.
