So the question seems to be should two people live together despite what others people might think.

I honestly don't see why not. I guess it depends on the reason. People should try and be independent and take care of themselves. But if you need a roommate to help pay rent or whatever I don't see an issue with it. Just set some ground rules: no nudity in the common areas, who does the dishes, food rules, etc.

And who cares what other people think? You're you. Be true to yourself. People can be judgemental donkey butts.

Can you provide facts that substantiate that or proof false the fact that sexually transmitted dieases are increasing and are less responsive to antibiotics?

Is the command of God not to have sex out side of marriage a silly idea?

Yeah, the reason why I want to live with her is because we are both single and we need help with rent and utilities. Everyone I know is either in relationships and they are living with their boyfriends or girlfriends. And we see each other like brother and sister.

I agree with Paul's premise, but from a practical standpoint, we cannot go through life allowing every choice to be dictated by the hypothetical weakest common denominator. That would result in paralysis.

OK let me rephrase this in a different way. Is it wrong for a believer to move in a girl he is not attracted to and would never be tempted to sleep with her because he sees her like a sister to move in with her?

Now, I struggle with my faith, but I am working on that.

Short of never having someone share the rent, people are going to think what people think. I suspect that what people will think will revolve around whether she and you are dating other people and that you don't hang out together like you are dating.

It is totally relevent, a single man is living in a house with a single girl. Most people will assume they are having sex.

I guess you are right. It's just hard sometimes. It's probably best not to do it. I don't fully understand why not, but if it offends other believers, then I shouldn't do it. And it probably will offend other believers.

For the Christian sex is reserved for with in marriage of a man and a woman. All other sexual relationships are wrong.
The Christian should live up to the highest moral standard so that there is not even the appearance of hin sinning.

And such is the way the Christian religion exercises its control over the masses. Peer pressure is elevated to the nth degree to ensure that others conform to the 'Christian' way of doing things.

When I finally walked away from Christianity, the relief I felt from not having to worry about what some Christian thought about what I was doing was massive. When one decides to only follow Jesus' teachings instead of the religion's teachings peer pressure melts away.

Ah, the old thing about Cesar's wife? Not only must she be pure but she must also be perceived as pure.

I suspect that many Christians work far too hard on making their image look pure to be effective in bringing Jesus to the masses. Remember, it was Jesus who accepted the invitation to dine with the tax collector who was the most despised person in existence in those days.

It is two different image problems.
One of showing that you are not conforming to societies norms and views.
And the other of showing that while you don't get drunk or do drugs you are willing to sit and talk with those who do.

I'm reading the story of Duncan Campbell who was used in the 1950's revival in the isle of Lewes. He never drank, but would always have time for a cup of tea and a chat with those who did drink.

It is interesting to me how some people think that just loving Jesus is sufficient despite what Jesus said in John 14:23-24:

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

As I've pointed out before, Jesus' teachings are widely ignored within the Christian religion.

No sex was ever going to occur. In fact, the idea of sleeping with my friend grosses me out. I see her as a sister.

I really appreciate what people have tried to say. But unfortunately I may have to move in with her. We both need it do to circumstances. I am disabled and want to go back to work. I am on disability, and I hate feeling like a leech living off the government. I even have a letter from DVR, a service program that helps handicap people go back to work, saying that they couldn't help me, and that I need to move somewhere where they have better services. My small town could not help me. But the big city have better resources, and I am going crazy not working. And my friend gets hurt by her boyfriend. And she can't afford to live on her own.

This sucks. I hate the fact that it gives off appearances of evil. But under the circumstances, we have no choice.

If we don't move in together, she will continue to get hurt by her boyfriend, and I will continue to be a drain on our economy.

It amazes me that people will take the great commands of Jesus and try to make it sound like obeying them is disobeying Jesus.

Loving people is obeying God. Indeed it is the only way the Bible says we can fulfill the law, what Jesus commanded.

Then there is 1 Cor.13 that says if you don't have love you have northing!
