I rededicated my life to Jesus 2 and a half years ago and since then have been studying and growing in the faith. If you asked me of my spiritual maturity I would guess I'm at that intermediate stage, but I hope to be a spiritual father one day. Recently, I've decided to be a disciple maker, if the Lord wills it. Not as a vocation necessarily, but as a way to give back to the community.

I am wondering if anyone has links to any kind of sources that would equip he for that kind of work. If you have anything, that would be appreciated.

Can I suggest something and I mean nothing by it, I actually have your best intentions in mind. Don't do it until the Lord opens the door for you.

Pray about it.
Study how others have discipled people
Study how Jesus disciples the disciples
Then when God says ok you have his blessing and are prepared.

Otherwise you will only be doing the work in your own power and spirit.

Your words are humbling I can't deny, but they are true. There is more I wish to say, but nothing that would add anything to the soundness of your advice.

Thats amazing to hear that you have rededicated your life to Christ and you are growing as am I as well!

Was baptized in the Holy Spirit probably about the same time (over 2 years ago), have been growing in faith by prayer and reading the Word and with just experiences of life.

I have also been evangelizing (to non believers and to strengthen believers) a little bit here and there as I feel I have been given that gift. It is definitely an experience and is nice to meet some new people.

Some advice from experience, is to stay in the Word and prayer as much as possible. If I didn't have those 2 things, i probably would have fallen away...

Not saying that to scare you, but to strengthen you for what is to come, because you will tend to see that the people you speak to will REALLY rely on you to build them up if you stay in contact with them longevity. It can be taxing at times, however, with prayer and the strength of Christ Jesus, you shall not faint!

Jesus is your strenghth, stay in Him and He will be in you!

Two books that we have use in our ministry (Mission E4) have been The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and The Lost Art of Disciple Making by Leroy Eims. I would suggest reading those two books.
