It's Friday morning 7.30 am [6.00pm Thursday, NY] here down under.
Because we are some 14 hours ahead of your Eastcoast time I have hassles keeping up with Fox News
cable shows like, Hannity, Tucker and of course Watter's World.

But always I start the day with praying in the Holy Spirit, as commanded to. Not just for myself but
also praying for my brothers and sisters going through tribulation.
Praying for my daughter and son-in-law and my three granddaughters.

God answers prayer. That's how I know that praying in tongues is God given. Results. Answered prayer.
Healings. Miracles. Divine provision.
Interpretation and prophecy whereby both Jesus and our Father speak to us, the Spirit-filled Church,
and reveals much to us about scripture, and more so now about these last of last days.

In the Revival Fellowship worldwide where we lay hands on the sick, and if not able to directly
then we pray for them in tongues.
People get healed. Some instantly and miraculously.
Some a little more incrementally - but usually, I believe, that our Lord is working to heal a
saint's faith and improve on their walk.
We have thousands upon thousands of wonderful testimonies to healings and the miraculous.

The fact of healings from God is not at issue.

It's the notion that just about any Christian who claims to have received the "gift" of being able to heal other people has been seen going around doing it. That's where this discussion started, way back when, with the claim that all the gifts of the HS are available today in the same way that tongues are...and we know that every Pentecostal church is full of people talking in unrecognizable sounds they call languages. So where are all the healers?

I don't know about you, but I hear of healings all the time. Even raising of the dead!

I would hate to believe only the Corinths received the Holy Spirit, as tongues is not a Gospel message (from Jesus) nor is it mentioned to any other churches by Paul or mentioned in the non Canon Christian scriptures.

Paul keys in on "unknown" tongue (speech). He said "if you pray" and you "don't understand" what you're praying, it benefits you nothing.

And only God knows the heart (mind) of all. Paul says tongues are a sign. If you enter into communion with the Holy Spirit, what profit is tongues? The Holy Spirit understands not through the mouth, but through the spiritual mind. And it teaches you through that same spiritual mind. In that respect a tongue can get in the way of understanding, yours or others with you.

Yes, I noticed this blooper when your first posted it but I figured that you would figure it out soon enough; for what its worth, we should probably hand your 'request over to @Alithis as being a Kiwi that will place him about 2 hours ahead of those of us who are on the East coast of Australia!

Come to think of it, most cessationists tend to only see their 'human' spirit as against that of the Holy Spirit, I think that the malaise is referred to as Spiritmyopia.
