  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hate Crimes Against Muslims Continue to Rise in 2016
A long-anticipated report from a prominent Muslim-American civil rights organization was released this week showing that reported hate crimes against Muslims in the United States rose dramatically in 2016, just as they did in 2015.

Reporting on hate crimes in the US is notoriously inexact. Victims underreport crimes, state and local law enforcement inconsistently record information, and local authorities often fail to provide accurate information to federal agencies. But data released last year from several sources, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, indicated anti-Muslim hate incidents surged in 2015.

Not unexpected, as there are more refugees coming. Note that word refugees, people fleeing for their life...
Ahh, because germany and france accepted those people "fleeing for their lives" and look how well that turned out.

Let's do a little experiment.

As I assume Ximmix is a supporter for both gays and muslims, and I would assume that summer madness is, given his... painfully libral attitude.

How can you support 2 things, that oppose each other?
Why would you support Muslim ideaology, it calls for the death of homosexuals, and Christians (or any who disbelieve)?
It's kind of like supporting nazis, sure, nazis are bad people, with bad ideas... But #notallnazis guys #notallnazis.

Because you can compile the statistics for all of 2017 in May 2017? Look at the date of the article...
Aye, but why 2016?
Why word it, continue to rise IN 2016, when it's no longer 2016?
Why not post this 6 months ago, when it was still 2016.

When you file your taxes in 2017, was it for your earnings in 2017 or 2016? Why would you release statistics and analysis of hate crimes in early December 2016 before the year is complete?

Aye, but the smart man files his taxes ASAP.
Waiting until may, 5 months after 2016 has ended, seems kinda silly.

You obviously have never written a scientific paper. You first write the paper, it is reviewed, there are usually and requests for edits, and then it is published. That doesn't happen instantaneously. Moreover, depending on the amount and data and analyses you're doing, you're not going to have results instantly. Regardless, you claimed it is a year late, which makes no sense.

How is that different to fundamental Christian's view on homosexuality..? If I recall correctly, the OT calls for that...

As you correctly assume, I'm a supporter of both gay and muslim rights. If your not, that is just amazing, but I'm sure you're clinging to the remnants of Christian privileges...

It doesn't take 5 months to ask Tom if it's okay.

I didn't say that.
I'm saying be smart about it, refugee doesn't promise peace.

The bible doesn't command us to kill gays, it would go against about everything Christ came to do.
I'd tell you to read the OT again, but I'd surmise you'd still come out somehow with the same idea.

I'm a supporter of every ones rights, of religion, speech, whatever.
But I don't support the Muslim religion, you incorrectly assume because I hate the religion, that I hate all that adhere to it.
I do not.

The complete blinding to the Qurans violent demands, is staggering.

It's quite obvious you have not done research because you're talking about a review process that took probably a month or two. Researchers and reviewers (who are also researchers) also have other work...

Wonderful opinion, off-topic, go elsewhere if you wish to bash Islam.

[Staff edit].

I've had Muslim friends, most of the time, pretty okay people.
As anyone who knows me will tell you that I've always said the belief doesn't directly make someone bad, if someones bad in their belief, chances are they'd be bad outside of it.

But I do not, will not, and cannot support a persons belief, that states that it's okay to kill Gays, or anybody who doesn't adhere to your belief.

It's not opinion.

I see you're Christian, I don't know why you're defending Islam.

Loving the people is different, but hating the idea should be expected.

Just like again, Nazis, not all Nazis are abhorrent people, but the principles of their belief are disgusting.

What does this have to do with hate crimes and whether it is wrong to target people with violence and intimidation because of their religion? Nothing.
