  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Don't worry, Andrew, it's complete rubbish — both from a scientific perspective and a Biblical perspective. It's essentially a myth that was cooked up by someone who claimed to receive messages from extraterrestrials and has since been linked to several purported coming catastrophes — like the supposed end of the world in 2012 — that (surprise surprise) didn't happen.

There's plenty of information about it here in Wikipedia, including how the conspiracy theory started and why it's an absolute impossibility: Nibiru cataclysm

Here's a Christian website that also dismisses the claims: Nibiru

Hope that's reassuring! ;)

Thanks for your reply. I had a friend over last night and he is so convinced by this. He says he has spent years looking into it. What really threw me was when he ties this in with the bible, giants and all. It's such a massive conspiracy? Aliens buried in the ground the lot. Ive never even heard of it lol :)

Yes, there is a lot of alarmist conspiracy material around.
My friend reads stuff like this a lot, he really seems to believe it and he really seems to believe that God with a big G in the bible is "God" but God with a little g is an alien . Is there even such a spelling in the bible. Can't say I've ever noticed but then again I'm new.

It's been years since I have read about this, but I am sure it is supposed to be invisible to our current observation techniques, due to a scientific reason or another (dark matter?). Also, I believe a theory involves the planet helping build the pyramids and other things seemingly impossible for ancient man to build.
Like every other theory out there, it is very fascinating.

There are two ways of reading and understanding the Bible: exegesis, which means getting the meaning out of the passage which is there already, and eisegesis, which means putting meaning into the passage which is not there already. :)

Yes he told me it's behind the sun lol :) There was also a lot of talk about underground bases and the dark side of the moon. Lol my other friend Ian was visiting me too, we were stunned that he had that much knowledge stored in his head lol. He could quote names and dates and calendars all over the place. :)

Well, when it starts to be about men in the moon it's mythology for sure!

Doesn't sound very Biblical to me. For a start, Hebrew, the original language of the Old Testament, just has the one set of letters, no capitals or lower case, so there's no way they could have made such a distinction. Greek (in the New Testament) does have capitals and lower case letters, but the earliest manuscripts we have are written all in capitals. So I wouldn't worry about it.

It's good to be wary of ideas which may be based on the misreading of letters in the Biblical languages. What the believer is mainly concerned with is what is on the line rather than with reading between the lines, so to speak. :)

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying — looking for esoteric coded messages in Biblical texts is NOT good scholarship, to put it mildly. o_O

I've posted about tattoos and some ppl like esoteric symbols to be the basis for their tattoo designs, but I think Bible verse / ref/ designs are a far better idea.

In the field of Biblical interpretation, the plain and straightforward meaning is far to be preferred to the obscure and hidden one! :)

He said also its all connected to some calendar and it happened before in Noah's time and a time before that.
At the very least it can probably said that it's rather obscure; and there is plenty in God's Word for our blessing that is not obscure! :)
