When Adam and Eve driven out of Eden they live a regretful and miserable life and several times satan tried to kill them so as to wipe off mankind from the earth and own the earth for itself.

satan also took Adam n Eve to a high mountain trying to push n kill them but God intervened again and saved them, And Adam wept before the Lord God, and begged and entreated Him to give him something from the garden, as a token to him, wherein to be comforted.

God then commanded His angel to find Gold, myrrh and incense and the angel did as God had commanded them, and they gave all those things to Adam and Eve on the top of the mountain upon which Satan had placed them, when it sought to make an end of them.

And when Adam saw the golden rods, the incense and the myrrh, he was rejoiced and wept because he thought that the gold was a token of the kingdom whence he had come, that the incense was a token of the bright light which had been taken from him, and that the myrrh was a token of the sorrow in which he was.

AFTER these things God said unto Adam, "Thou didst ask of Me something from the garden, to be comforted therewith, and I have given thee these three tokens as a consolation to thee; that thou trust in Me and in My COVENANT with thee.
"For I will come and save thee and kings shall bring me when I am in the flesh, these gold, incense and myrrh, gold as a token of My Kingdom, incense as a token of My divinity, and myrrh as a token of My suffering and of My death.

When Adam heard these words from God, he worshipped before Him. He and Eve worshipped Him and gave Him thanks, because He had dealt mercifully with them.

These three things did God give to Adam, on the third day after he had come out of the garden, in token of the three days the Lord should remain in the heart of the earth.

WHEN our father Adam saw that his end was near, he called his son Seth, who came to him in the Cave of Treasures, and he said unto him
"O my son, hereafter shall a flood come and overwhelm all creatures, and leave out only eight souls.

But, O my son, let those whom it will leave out from among your children at that time, take my body with them out of this cave; and when they have taken it with them, let the oldest among them command his children to lay my body in a ship until the flood has been assuaged, and they come out of the ship.
Then they shall take my body and lay it in the middle of the earth, shortly after they have been saved from the waters of the flood. For the place where my body shall be laid, is the middle of the earth; God shall come from thence and shall save all our kindred.

Then, after a long time, the city in which the gold, the incense, and the myrrh are found with my body, shall be plundered. But when it is spoiled, the gold the incense, and the myrrh shall be taken care of with the spoil that is kept; and naught of them shall perish, until the Word of God, made man shall come, when kings shall take them, and shall offer to Him, Gold as a token of His overcoming Satan, and all our foes; incense as a token that He will rise from the dead, and be exalted above things in heaven and things in the earth; and myrrh, in token that He will drink bitter gall; and feel the pains of hell from Satan.

Since Satan usurped dominion over the earth from Adam and Eve, it would make sense that he would try to rid earth of them and prevent the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 from coming to pass. He would then have a legitimate claim to possessing earth and thereby prevent his eternity in the lake of fire.

However, Satan failed. Jesus was born and overcame the world and He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Satan lost his dominion over earth at the cross. When the seventh trumpet sounds, Jesus will make manifest His dominion and bring about the ultimate regime change. Revelation 11:17

Satan's only hope to keep from being cast into the lake of fire is to try and hang on to the dominion he is currently exercising over earth. He can only do that if he can prevent prophecy from coming to pass, if he can prevent the seventh trumpet from sounding. This is why he is so irate at the woman in Revelation 12:17. He failed once. He'll fail again.

Do not underestimate the Apocrypha, Apostle Jude has quoted Henoch words from the book of Henoch which is also an Apocrypha but it is valued as high as Torah.

Jude 1 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Satan wasn't in Genesis 3 though, the serpent was nothing more than a serpent.

Also, why would Satan have dominion over the Earth? If Revelation is supposed to be of the future (I think it's just supposed to refer to the churches of the time since they were mentioned, but I digress), and thus Satan is only released upon Jesus's return, Satan should still be locked up now.

Ever since mankind fell into sin we cannot control the weather and animals anymore and must suffer from its raging power (weather) till the end times, therefore the devil has dominion over the earth.

Why would a serpent, who is nothing more than a serpent, entice Eve to sin against God? Who, in your opinion, is the serpent of old that is mentioned in Revelation 12:9?

Revelation was written centuries later when the view on Satan changed. Those of the Old Testament really had no concept of a devil. In Genesis 3 itself, the serpent is described as the craftiest of all the beasts of the field that the Lord God had made, indicating that it was just a serpent. Also God curses the serpent to slither on the ground, as an explanation for why snakes slither to this day, a punishment that would make no sense if the serpent was actually Satan.

Hey, the trees in the Garden had special abilities in their fruit (like the Trees of Knowledge and Life), so I don't think talking animals is too far out of the question for a garden of paradise. Maybe other animals in the garden could talk too, they just weren't mentioned because it wasn't important to the Fall. After all, Adam and Eve didn't seem surprised that a serpent was talking.

Granted, there's a lot we don't know about the way things were back then, which brings me back to my original question, why did the serpent entice Eve to sin against God? Who or what would do such a thing unless they were hostile toward God?

We can't be sure. The serpent is never seen again in any form, and Moses (who supposedly wrote Genesis) was born a long time after the events, so we can't even be sure how accurate it is. Even if we assume it is an accurate retelling of the history of Moses's ancestors, the account merely says the serpent was crafty and it was an animal God created. It's true it did deceive Eve, but God punished it so it lost its legs/wings/ability to climb trees/whatever and slither on the ground. That's it, it never appears again. If we assume that God intended all along to have Jesus save humanity (as if I recall correctly several verses say), then God created the serpent to be that way in the first place.

All we know is that the serpent was created to be crafty and it deceived Eve. And Adam listened to Eve only because both had previously been amoral—the only one giving them any commands/requests/information before was God, so they couldn't know if any alternate information was true or not. If Adam and Eve had some information that indicated only God tells the truth and everything else is deceptive, then Adam might have refused the fruit Eve offered.

May Jesus bless you all HalleluYAH

is a difficult topic
- egyptian glyphs describe gold as "aspects of our original Eden body", NUB, which they stole, and mixed their aspects in it ;
('and the gold of eden was good')

'myrrh' is ÃNtu, related to 'willpower',
belonging to that same body [because Adam hád all the willpower possible] ,

- but it's tricky to describe the attributes in them ;
yet it is absolutely sure, 'they' stole those attributes
[compare Haggai, 'the silver and gold is Mine',
as well as the female who anointed Him with myrrh)

That is an interesting surmise of the origins...
I'm more curious however, to know what happened to the Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh AFTER the Magi gave them to Mary & Joseph?

Apparently it was a small fortune... enough for their family to live in relative wealth and luxury, perhaps for multiple generations....

Where did it go?

I do not recall ever hearing any of that mentioned in the Bible. Satan only was in the Old Testament once, in Job.

And in Job Satan is just an angel in the presence of God doing God's bidding acting as a sort of prosecuting attorney.

The serpent deceived Eve several millennia ago. The omniscient, almighty God describes Satan as the serpent of old who is a deceiver. Revelation 12:9 I don't see any reason to think that the serpent who deceived Eve wasn't Satan in some form or other. The shoe certainly fits.

I also find it interesting that Balaam wasn't surprised either when his donkey talked to him, centuries after Eden. Numbers 22:28-30

God didn't directly declare it, John did and wrote about it. It was all very symbolic, and Revelation almost wasn't in the Bible, it was the very last book to be added in—in the fourth century if I recall correctly, and even then reluctantly. There were many other books that didn't make it into the Bible, what then if Revelation had been among them? Would people really say the serpent was Satan when the only true appearance of Satan in the Old Testament was in Job? Would people really be trying to point out an Antichrist or what the Mark of the Beast is (even though signs point to the Beast being Nero)?

I see your point, but that's a very minor point and it outright says a spirit took over that donkey. In Genesis no such mention is made of a spirit in the serpent, it simply says that the serpent was the craftiest of the beasts of the field God had made, like it was always that way from the start.
