• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, it's like a cell phone and a signal. The signal is not the phone and the phone is not the signal, but they need each other to function. Consciousness and personality rests gently on the electrochemical platform of your material mind. You were born with the potential of becoming responsive to spirit.

"If this were only a material universe, material man would never be able to arrive at the concept of the mechanistic character of such an exclusively material existence. This very
mechanistic concept of the universe is in itself a nonmaterial phenomenon of mind, and all mind is of nonmaterial origin, no matter how thoroughly it may appear to be materially conditioned and mechanistically controlled."

Well as soon as you can demonstrate that this is true, give me a call.

He was just being polite.

BTW can you explain to me what a 'Spirit' is please?
God is spirt.

Spirit is the soul of creation.

"Spirit is ever conscious, minded, and possessed of varied phases of identity. Without mind in some phase there would be no spiritual consciousness in the fraternity of spirit beings. The equivalent of mind, the ability to know and be known, is indigenous to Deity. Deity may be personal, prepersonal, superpersonal, or impersonal, but Deity is never mindless, that is, never without the ability at least to communicate with similar entities, beings, or personalities"

Yes, I believe Jesus was/is the Son of God. I believe he is the Christ. I am Christ-ian.

I believe there was an origin gospel taught and preached by Jesus that changed after the cross, after Jesus left. As you know and institutional church replaced the simple fellowship of believers in the Kingdom of Heaven. Some would tell me I'm not Christian, some tell each other they aren't Christian either. There are thousands of denominations that fight with each other claiming to be the proper kind of Christian. But make no mistake, I AM a disciple of Jesus.

May I remind you of this post?
Here are some things Urantia teaches:
  1. Prayer is not to be attempted until one has "exhausted the human capacity for human adjustment." In addition, "words are irrelevant to prayer."
  2. The biblical doctrine of atonement (Hebrews 9:22) "unnecessarily encumbered Christianity with teachings about blood and sacrifice."
  3. The home is seen as a "sociological institution," and the belief that marriage is a sacred state is called "unfortunate." "Deity is not a conjoining party" in marriages that dissolve.
  4. Mankind's parents were named Andon and Fonta, who procreated Sontad.
  5. Adam, Solomon, and David were not in the direct line of ancestry of Joseph, the father of Jesus.
  6. Jesus adopted the term "Son of Man" at age fifteen after reading a passage in the so-called Book of Enoch.
  7. During his twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth years on earth, Jesus toured the Roman world, accompanied by the natives from India.
  8. The indwelling Christ is not essential to salvation, since "Jesus does not require his disciples to believe in him but rather to believe with him."
