  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Not a big fan but I've written to him in the past. The good thing about the Church of England is that everyone's pretty accessible during and after their time within it, so it was nice to be able to talk to him considering his previously held position.
Is it possible that we take this discussion to a new thread? I don't mind that it's discussed here, I just think it's too good of a talk not to have its own thread :)

If I didn't log into CF for a year, I wonder how many advertisements in my notifications I'd get from CF asking for money.

Why are Reeses Cups so darn delicious?

They're alright, but I don't love them. Between the smooth chocolate, and creamy peanut butter, I find they're crying out for some kind of texture contrast. A crunchy element like cookie crumbs or crispy rice would really improve the taste that much more.

OMM: Well, if I'm not sleeping tonight, I wonder how much I can get done? Off to find out. I hope everyone has a pleasant sleep and sweet dreams.
Made mah heart smile. :D Not much sleep on my end either I'm afraid. I'll probably end up napping tomorrow.

What I think doesn't matter. God's thoughts are so much higher than my own which is why I asked Him, if it was in His will, that He find me a husband that is with Him and not against Him. When I said to God, "You are enough, I no longer need a husband", He then showed me who he is! God is SO Great!

Isaiah 55:9

Looks like you better moooove it along :D

Is there no end to your mischief? LOL

On my mind: Why does my father have to be a grumpy and rude person? Seriously. It gets old.

Thank God being the only Father we have :)

I know what you mean, though. I have gone through so many events with mine growing up. Praying for you and him.

Thank you. <3 Yes, it is so wonderful our true father is much more kinder and patient than our earthly one. But golly, sometimes I get so frustrated.>.<

I'll pray for you too.

I agree with Swan7, God is a good father that many of us don't fully appreciate due to our experiences with our own fathers. I'm happy for you that you still trust God in spite of whatever failed authority figures you dealt with in life.

I'll pray for you too. My father and I cut off ties with each other after he decided that I was mentally unfit to be his son. It was only in recent months we got back together.

I'm really sorry. :( In a way, I can relate. My cat was attacked by another cat and when Hane (cat) saw the offending cat outside, my nephew being right there beside her and before I could react, she freaked out and swat my nephew out of fear and defense. My dad railed at me for it and saying he better not see that cat by the time he got back from the clinic. That same night I was gone.

It's basically why I don't live with him anymore. As what my sister said, "we have to love him from afar." This all happened about 2 weeks after my baptism, so I think it was all done for a reason. I know I can't fully relate to you, Wayholka.

Yes! This! :D

I worked for Ford for 50 years and my son sells Japanese cars.

Japanese cars are way better than American cars. I've driven both, there's no comparison. I had a Toyota Solara that went to almost 200K miles before it began to get more expensive to keep it than it was worth and I didn't trust it anymore (this was in college when I frequently took long road trips on rural roads). I now drive a Chevrolet that has 50K miles and already feels middle-aged.
