Two genes develope a mutation. How did that happen? Luck and accident.

Mutations happen all the time. Most are neutral, some are harmfull and some are beneficial. Call it what you wish.

It was either that or there was a design involved. The Natural selection answer is grasping at straws because it makes claims it can't prove. Accident or design. Which is it? There cannot be an in between answer.

In short, it gave you civilisation.

The reason I speak to them this way is that Science is their religion, they focus solely on the temporal, and I do not fault them for that because all of us have that human propensity, but the fact remains that it distracts them from seeing the Truth. 2. "random changes" is not the same as "accidents" (as I said, "accidents" as a word has baggage/implications that isn't applicable to genetic mutation)

A false dichotomy is when only two options are presented as being possible.

In this case, you are saying that animals came about by either complete randomness, or because someone designed them. These are not the only two options, because you are overlooking at least one more - natural selection. Natural selection is not complete randomness, but it is not the result of conscious design either.
