I was reading over some old threads (of mine and other people) about the unpardonable sin for reassurance so I can go to sleep and try to get through the night. On one I thought 'I know this comment, if this isn't "Terror" I'll forfeit my soul' AND IT WASNT does it work that way??? Can you forfeit your soul?

Well its a struggle at times because we assume we have top be perfect like Jesus or else we are hell bound. Heck I did that last week. I mean obviously we should try for perfection fo course. BUT we must not dig ourselves into a hole of despair because even though our sins are paid for, it doesn't mean we won't mess up at times. Just know your "place" is saved. I don't believe in once saved always saved, but I do believe unless you've become a satanist or something, heaven shouldn't be to much of a worry. Well its a bit more complex then that. Needless to say don't worry, the fact your questioning it means you are in a good place because you are still wanting to please God.

Okay Angsty McFaithless, look at these verses:

Philippians 3:21 You see how it says "able to subdue all things to Himself"? That means, you, too.

1 Corinthians 15:28 You see how it says "when all things will be subdued to Him"? That means, you, too.

2 Corinthians 5:19 You see how it says "reconciling the world unto Himself"? You, too.

Colossians 1:20 You see how it says "to reconcile all things to Himself" even "in earth and in heaven"? Yes, you, too.

Romans 8:38-39 You see how it says "nor, nor, nor, nor, not, nor, nor, nor, nor, nor"? That's ten nors. Nor you (see, you're a "thing present" and a "creature/creation"); so not even you have the ability to separate yourself from the love of Christ. You're going to be reconciled and saved even if we have to drag you screaming and kicking through the proverbial pearly gates.

So sorry to rain on your rain-parade, but everything is going to be fine. You may screech "It can't be! It can't be!" but, it is. You may cry "People have to burn and be lost forever!" Nope. You can rage and seethe "God must hate everything!" Not even remotely. You may raise your fist and demand "Unforgivable!" It won't stand. So go lose sleep over the fact that, everyone is going to be just fine in the end. I know, I know; it's a terrible thought. It's a scary thought, that everyone is going to be fine. But, unfortunately, it's apparently true.

BUT, the good news is that God will certainly let you wallow in your self-loathing and angst-ridden faithless despair for as long as you wish.

It could be. I don't like to be too hard on others; truth be told, I've been where she is, and experience tells me it's sometimes necessary. One good thing that comes from it is, that when you're completely broken in self, you realize that, there's nothing left in you, and you really have to throw yourself completely on Christ. I believe this can cause a clear focus on how worthless our own "works" really are, and we can come to a fuller reliance on the works of Christ alone. In the end, it can be a great builder of faith since we must cast ourselves wholly at the feet of God and God alone: Romans 7:24, Revelation 4:10-11, Psalms 148:13

Though you can't forfeit your soul, but you may burn your deeds in shame though. If you loved Jesus and had faith in His salvation but all your life long you remained a racist hating black people and then when later in Heaven you see all these black people having a ball, then your past hate of black people will be loathsome to you forever. No matter how proud a racist you were down here. This count for all life in wrong. For sinful self will be washed of sin so we ourselves can enter in ex-sinners, redeemed and set free. So a continuation of mortal sin is not advisable, for although we may not loose our salvation as a whole, we can certainly loose it in part. Hebrew 4:12-13 gives us a very dire warning about this reality.

People will just say "No you're fine" and not prove it with scripture so I've been in pretty consistent anxiety for almost two months. And there's no reason to call me names, my eternal soul is no small deal to me.

There was supposed to be a bit of a humorous undercurrent to the post; if you missed it, then I assure you it's there. It's just a roundabout manner of saying, maybe lighten up a little. You're making mountains out of molehills and needlessly causing yourself torment for nothing. But still, what I was saying is true; the name "Angsty McFaithless" is not stating something that isn't true. You have angst, and you have no faith; the name is a perfect epithet of your real problem and how the two words connect to one another. Your angst is a direct result of your lack of faith. Look here: Mark 4:40 Why are you so fearful? It's because you have no faith. If you had faith, you would believe the promises of Christ. You would have faith in His ability to keep you, and protect you from all things: and yes, including your own self. You would have faith in the love and forgiveness of God, and in the sacrifice of Christ that makes you perfect without your own works.

If anything is an affront to God, it is being faithless. It's not "unpardonable sins" (which are quite pardonable) it's not "damaging your own soul" (which is easily mended) it is faithlessness. Putting yourself above God, as if you can defeat the promises of God by your own weakness. But again, the good news is, nothing you can do can thwart the will of God, and He wills that you be reconciled. Thus it is. Colossians 1:20

What ought to really worry you, is that you have no sense of this that doesn't come in text form. What does God say to you in prayer?

How has the Holy Spirit lead you in all of this? What has God told you?

My Pastor preached on this once and I remember him saying this about it and I'll relate it to your situation.
"If you are feeling this much grief in your spirit and are worried about it this much then you did not committ the unpardonable sin."
