  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A son of God is something that a christian becomes.
Non christians are non sons. Your book got it wrong again.
That's why it was good news, all men and women of the earth are already Sons and daughters of the Living God. By faith we may realize this ennobling truth. We are all one human family under God, all brothers and sisters.

Joseph according to your book thought he was the Father

How could the offspring of human beings be a child of divine destiny?

also... 122:4.4(1347.6) Even the passage, “a maiden shall bear a son,” was made to read, “a virgin shall bear a son.”
That's the miracle, the Son became the baby of Mary. All personalities come from God the Father.

Jewish and Christian scholars agree that "Almah" means young women, not virgin.

But it was in all innocence that the word became "virgin" in greek. The translators of the Septuagint translated that word as "virgin" in greek and they did this before Christ.

So he said.
That's right.

So he said.

Anything wrong with that?

Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Colter said:
I prefer the gospel before the cross rather than a former persecutor of Jesus' disciples who never knew Jesus while he was on the earth.
God's standards are different.

1 Samuel 16:7b ... for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

That's not what the bible teaches.
John 8:44 tells us...You are of your father the devil,

God the Father knows my heart, Jesus knows my heart, Jesus knows I believe in him before the tragic rejection and murder.

Yes God does know your heart. He knows you don't believe Jesus was the atoning sacrifice for sin.
Because he wasn't, and it's true that I have never rooted for killing Jesus for my sins. God has always heen forgiving, no Pagan sacrifices needed. I'm a diciple of Jesus religion not Pauls remix compromises to please the Pagan world.

Don't you mean "Michael Jesus" knows your heart?

Jesus wasn't murdered.

John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

In fact, He made three more statements from the Cross after His heart had exploded in His chest cavity.

When the proper time came ... and only when the proper time came ... Jesus said ...

IT IS FINISHED!

No you're a disciple of Urantia. A book that contradicts scripture in many places.

Jesus wasn't put on trial, found guilty and crucified? Not the sharpest tool in the she'd there son.

Yes, the incarnation requirement to achieve unquestioned sovereignty of his own creation was complete. But man is so self centered he can't help but to think everything is about his guilty conscience.

God was already forgiving to those who simply repented and asked. Jesus had tied his authority to teach to his death and resurrection not forgiveness.

Scripture contradicts itself in many places, but this is all about your inability to deal with fossils not the UB.

There may be apparent contradiction...but when studied in their proper context...they are always shown to be apparent contradictions.

No, it's when they are rationalized away in order to maintain Biblical idolatry that group think adopts a flimsy comfort about it. But the authors were writing in preacher speak, they made no claim of writing Gods Words. After the return from Babylon future generations of priestly elite began to call the redacted books "scripture" in order to derive their institutional authority.

Many shamans in many religions claim their scripture books are divinely inspired.

No you're a disciple of Urantia. A book that contradicts scripture in many places.
Here are some things Urantia teaches:
  1. Prayer is not to be attempted until one has "exhausted the human capacity for human adjustment." In addition, "words are irrelevant to prayer."
  2. The biblical doctrine of atonement (Hebrews 9:22) "unnecessarily encumbered Christianity with teachings about blood and sacrifice."
  3. The home is seen as a "sociological institution," and the belief that marriage is a sacred state is called "unfortunate." "Deity is not a conjoining party" in marriages that dissolve.
  4. Mankind's parents were named Andon and Fonta, who procreated Sontad.
  5. Adam, Solomon, and David were not in the direct line of ancestry of Joseph, the father of Jesus.
  6. Jesus adopted the term "Son of Man" at age fifteen after reading a passage in the so-called Book of Enoch.
  7. During his twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth years on earth, Jesus toured the Roman world, accompanied by the natives from India.
  8. The indwelling Christ is not essential to salvation, since "Jesus does not require his disciples to believe in him but rather to believe with him."

Let me translate these more or less accurate extrapolations, AV1611VET can't explain an old earth or the layers upon layers of fossil record preserved within it. So, he googles a book about a book he hasn't read that he's sure he disagrees with in a desperate attempt to discredit my salient points.
